The South Pacific did an excellent job on their bid and are certainly deserving winners. Had it been anyone else to lose to, I would've been upset. But the South Pacific are certainly capable hands with a great vision, so I can't be sad for the World Fair. Good luck and I look forward to the Fair. :)

And Escade: since I've finally found some opinions on the matter, is your offer still open?

Considering that's ten times as many nations as I could've (and did) send the same telegram to, I couldn't have hurt. :p Still a well-deserved victory on the part of the South Pacific and I really can't be anything but honoured that the DSA came this far.

Just to explain things:

The delay in choosing the winning bid really set things back for us. We could have done in shortly after being selected, but we were running up against Thanksgiving, and while that's a break for a lot of people, it's not very long and it's mostly spent off the internet with your real families! We could also have done it right after Thanksgiving, but that would clash with the end of semester (and thus, the dreaded Finals Week) for many a college student. So we've got just before Christmas and through the few days just before New Year's. The assumption is that people aren't really doing a lot during those in-between days, and also we wanted it to happen before the beginning of 2014.
