Statement from the Cabinet of The South Pacific

Greetings friends and strangers,

It is with great sadness we must report an act of unfortunate treachery and irresponsibility. Less than two hours ago, newly elected delegate Milograd has gone rogue, launching a massive ejection and banning spree, banning many nations including Topid, the sitting Minister of Regional Affairs, elected at the same time Milograd was chosen as delegate, and Tsunamy, long-time administrator of The South Pacific's forums.

We regret that once again we have been betrayed by a party we trusted to know better, and a player we once had great respect for. Rest assured however, the rest of The South Pacific's government took the faith the voters of the South Pacific placed in us, and this shall soon be over.

It is unclear whether Milograd was supported or encouraged to go rogue by anyone. The World Factbook Entry identifies Solm, Chief of the Band of the United Defenders League as the inspiration of the attack. John Ashcroft Land, also known as "Durk" is also present in the region supporting Milograd on the regional message board.

This is, of course, an initial statement. Much remains unknown and the situation is still developing. We are saddened but ready to fight. We will take back our region for the people that have made it so great over the years, and we will continue forward and see to it that Milograd is defeated and faces trial.

We thank you for your time and concern, and will keep you updated as we learn more.

This is indeed a saddening situation for TSP, hailed as one of the oldest democracies in NS. We hope that the rest of the NationStates Community will join us in the restoration of democracy in the region. Democracy, not tyranny, not dictatorship, is and should always be a fundamental right of the people of The South Pacific

In the early hours of this morning, the newly elected World Assembly Delegate of The South Pacific, Milograd (also known as Carta), began ejecting natives including members of the elected Cabinet.

Upon being alerted of the situation, I set off to discuss the matter with TSP officials including Milograd himself. As a result of those discussions and subsequent research, it is my judgement that he has acted in violation of TSP constitutional and statute law. Therefore Europeia chooses to recognize the wishes of the Cabinet as the legitimate perogative of the TSP government at this time.

We will offer any and all support, diplomatic and militarily, to that body to the resolution of this conflict as is our responsibility as a treatied ally and friend of the people of The South Pacific.

More information will be made available as it becomes prudent to do so. Thank you.

I would imagine TEP would condemn such a thing. I know I'm a loud voice in the region, but I'm not *the* region over there. Still, we're discussing it and will come to some sort of resolution shortly.

As for myself, I will have to see how this progresses before outright condemning it.

As for Milo, I wish to offer him sanctuary in TEP should things turn south in TSP. TEP's been a place of second chances for a lot of people, and a place for them to try out new things. It's a good system we've worked out there. Plus we could use more RPers.

The following logs have been given to the Cabinet of TSP. These have also worked there way to several other prominent members of GP. They are being released publicly now as they would be made public in TSP in the coming days anyway.

This conversation took place on 2/25/13 and was between Solm, Carta, and others.

Statement on the Coup of The South Pacific

Greetings. The North Pacific has been incredibly troubled by the recent events in The South Pacific, so feels compelled to release this statement.

The North Pacific will always stand by our allies in The South Pacific, and will support the legitimate government. In this case, we regard Milograd, who is hereby declared persona non grata in The North Pacific as the illegitimate and illegal delegate of our ally.

The North Pacific condemns the ejection of natives of The South Pacific, and considers such actions illegal, and we stand by the legitimate representatives of the government of The South Pacific.

An attack on The Coalition of The South Pacific is an attack on The North Pacific, and we will not tolerate such actions.

The North Pacific promises all its available resources, both diplomatically and militarly to helping to restore The South Pacific to the rule of it's legitimate, native government.

Due to the actions of the sitting delegate of the South Pacific, the New Inquisition find what has transgressed appalling.

The New Inquisition shall be offering all support it can through all channels to support the legitimate government in their effort to establish control of the region. This is not only coming from a treat ally, but as a friend of the South Pacific.

I would ask TNP to avoid interfering in our internal affairs, but given TNP's history of acting with reckless abandon in the sovereign affairs of its fellow feeders, I would expect my request to go unheeded.

Statement on the coup in the South Pacific

Approximately twelve hours ago, Milograd, sitting Delegate of The South Pacific, went rogue, removing the link to the community forum, requesting foreign military assistance and launching a purge of several hundred nations against the region.

Beyond the hollow rhetoric, Milograd's actions lack any direction whatsoever outside that of betraying the trust of those same institutions which had elected him and causing needless grief with the displacement of four hundred native nations.

The Rejected Realms cannot accept the rule of a delegate, Milograd, who seems to consider an entire feeder region as a playground for power abuse.
We pledge diplomatic and RRA support to ensure a speedy restoration of the legitimate government.
