Yet gameplay is where we can put Organization information and updates... so I can't use this organization's thread to promote its own event?

Does that mean that if my roleplaying region has an embassy thread in this forum, I can't post an update because its not relevant to gameplay?

Read my post - specifically the bit about bumping the thread solely to advertise a non-gameplay event. If a roleplay region posted in their recruiting thread solely to advertise a new RP thread they had going, that would not be permitted. Similarly, posting solely to advertise a "wedding" going on within a gameplay region would not be be allowed.

You're not promoting the gameplay organisation there, just a gameplay-irrelevant happening going on in your IRC channel - and having two posts for that just a few minutes apart was completely unnecessary.

If you're mentioning your movie nights as part of a regular update on the organisation, that's fine. Single post bumps about them - not.
