In Dutch, yes. But in English, I doubt it?

Unibot's list is sort of accurate, in terms of public members. I can not, however, go into further detail about others who have still not unmasked.

Is Empire still strategically active? I'm under the impression that Biyah has largely if not entirely departed the game, and I can't imagine Empire actually being strategically active without him. No offense to the rest of you, of course, but he seemed to be the driving force behind Empire the entire time I've been playing NationStates.

I don't know why I'm even asking this because you're just going to respond with something vague and cryptic. :P

Aye. Since they won't answer the question I'm just basing it off the fact he still includes that title in his signature and is still flying the official UDL standard on his main. :P

Hi Cormac,

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by 'strategically active'. For all intents and purposes, I'm retired, even if I did not publicly announce it (I'm not big on doing that, tbh, after trying to retire for a couple years now and failing). And god knows I really do not want to have a reason to come back. Obviously I can't speak for the others on their current activities, but I'm sure you have a rough feeling about what's up :)

EDIT: I seriously laughed at your last line. May have made my day, comrade :P

Does anybody have any info/experience of the various recruiting procedures practised through the years on NS?

When i first joined there were regions that claimed to have teams who followed a schedule to provide around the clock manual recruiting to prospect for new nations

There were also regions that had access to scripts that automated the above and which were jealously guarded secrets - you had to be alied with them to gain access

That was followed by a flurry of activity as "public" recruitment scripts were made available, leading shortly after to a ban them

Then came paid for stamps, followed by a telegram API and the limited facility to use scripts again

Have you used/do you still use any of the above? Have you seen significant shifts in their effectiveness? I would especially like to hear from those who were part of a recruiting team or who are persevering with manual recruiting/

Many thanks

McMasterdonia was temporarily removed from the WA awhile back due to a mistaken positive test for WA Multiing when the new system was implemented. Was Durkadurkiranistan deleted while he was still in office as WAD for posting an obscene WFE (or was it flag)?

Durkadurkiranistan decided to end his rogue delegacy in The North Pacific, in March 2010, by changing the region's flag, his flag and the WFE to George Carlin's "seven words you can never say on television".

Good question. Not sure. Belgium? Nederland? Texas? The North Pacific? The Bruce or NewTexas or Loop might be able to clarify. What's interesting is that we know a lot less about early defenderdom than we do early invaderdom. Mammo found that the word, "defender" seemed to be a new development over the summer of 2003.

Francos Spain was deleted once at least. I know he was kicked out of the WA too, twice even? There seemed to be several instances where he was implicated and then the decision was reversed controversially. Lots of drama ensued.

Not sure if "0_0" was deleted or not. But he was a nazi couper who multi'd to get the delegacy of The East Pacific against Loop in 2004-ish.

I believe they were initially apart of a network that defended themselves prior to the creation of Regional Founders (since any region could be invaded - defense networks like those made more sense than they do now). Might have been the early Meritocracy - Free4All would know more.

Early Belgian and Dutch defenders like Riemstagrad, Free4All and Crazygirl also worked with the GLA - a secret defender organization.
