Any questions or anything for me? Also, I was thinking TEK would be starting fresh with our foreign affairs, but then Starkiller had to go and recruit for AoI on my RMB...

You guys think I could make ONE final topic here for TEK? Don't wanna irritate the mods, but I'm pretty sure all of our old topics are locked. And I'd like one with a first post I could edit.

Starkiller is.... interesting. He piled in Helix for you :P As Rifty has told me, don't even take actions of Noble as actions of AoI, always, for he can override them all - and I doubt he's going to be happy about that. Perhaps send him a TG about it?

And as I'm reading it, he just said move away, not move to AoI :P

Dont forget to edit your sig! :P

It's not that unusual.

Invaders will sometimes share an invader delegate to do faster banjections than one human could accomplish. It's not exactly cricket, but they have done so in the past.

Sometimes a founder will retire and put their founder nation in the hands of multiple trusted players, as happened in Equilism.

Sometimes doing this can go horribly wrong, as happened in Equilism (2006 Schism).

Because we only hear about the occasional time where one player changes the password to take full control and the other party makes their unhappiness known, it's difficult to say just how common this arrangement is in the NationStates World. I'm guessing that there are more than a few founders of well established regions that have their passwords in the hands of people they know and trust. How good a decision that is is largely based on how stable that offline relationship is and how good a judge in character a founder is. Knowing where that person sleeps and how lightly is also a good way to determine that trust.

Naturally, players sharing a nation should be very careful about doing so. Not just the risk of a region to someone with the password of the founder, but ensuring only one of them has a WA membership at a time, if there is frequent logging into the founder by multiple parties. Moderators have also mentioned on several occasions that sharing a nation is sharing NS Mod warnings, although they've very likely shown great discretion in applying this when the more colourful personalities of NationStates have shared nations with those lacking in warnings.

Being caught in the coup of a founderless region is rough, but the coup of an executive-foundered region?

And the IDU, for example, was actually created with a shared founder... and has now survived for approximately a decade on that basis, with careful selection of new sharers, despite the last of the original controllers having left NS several years ago.

It's not possible for multiple people to be connected on the same nation at the same time anymore.

Yes, sometimes some of us still share in order to merely cover more updates on our real-life schedules, but most follow stringent procedures when doing so. Sicarius policy on that for our last and most recent op Islam, for example (though it wasn't needed much), was that anyone who shared the point was to remain out of the WA until the shared nation had resigned, and moreso, on logging in, you were to change the email and password to your own, to clearly show the change of hands in any paper trail. Then, you posted the changed password in our super secret leader chat :P If any of us had gone rouge, the op would have been theirs to take, but among the four of us, there was more than enough trust to do this. I don't know of many else that change the password and email, but I know of several who have the "stay out of the WA until shared nations resigns" policy, and those few I explicitly know who don't have that policy still require you to resign from your main WA before sharing (risky, IMO, but we may have been overly cautious :P). It makes it a bit of a trade-off - you can have a man on at update, or one less endorsement for the rest of the occupation. If the opposing forces have a good jump, the extra endo might save the op, but if they come in early, an active player might ban two, three, or more and be more effective. Of course, that only counts if one of the sharers can make it to updates - there'll still be some usually that both miss, which is the downside - one less endo, and no one watching. :P

It won't ever get changed back down to multiple raiders on Banhammer - Was unfair to defenders. We're just chatting about it mate~

We should get this GP chat thread active

- Works the entire weekend.

This is the most time I've spent away from NS since I joined back in 2011. I imagine GP is just exploding in activity in my absence.
