Illegality of Modifying Time
A resolution to restrict civil freedoms in the interest of moral decency.

Category: Moral Decency
Strength: Significant
Proposed by: Whovian Tardisia

Description: This resolution will hereby prohibit any government or individual from using time travel for the purpose of changing history. In this vast world of ours, it is likely that there are nations that possess the technology required to move through time, and this resolution restricts this technology as follows:

1. Time travel may NOT be used to modify time:
A) For the economic benefit of the nation using it.
B) To eliminate a political or religious belief or figurehead.
C) To prevent the passing of a WA resolution made before the founding of the nation in question.

2. Time travel MAY be used:
A) To prevent a non-WA nation's tampering.
B) To educate the populous about history, without meddling in the affairs of the past.
C) To save lives in order to preserve the current state of the past.

This resolution hereby enacts the regulations listed above and forms the World Assembly Time Patrol (WATP) to enforce them. The WATP's host nation shall be voted upon yearly, with the first vote commencing the day after the passing of this resolution.

Approvals: 0
Status: Lacking Support (requires 90 more approvals)
Voting Ends: in 3 days 11 hours

Unfortunate mis-spelling in 2.B...
... and anyway it's Illegal, for creating a WA Police and for the bit about determining the force's host nation. That'as a pity, really, because the Bears IC would probably support this idea.
And I like the sponsoring nation's name...

Minus the time patrol though, I'm pretty sure this is entirely legal. Even has the right category

.GENERAL ASSEMBLY PROPOSAL
ID: the_adarch_confederacy_1435357293

Regulation of WMD in Space

A resolution to slash worldwide military spending.

Category: Global Disarmament

Strength: Significant

Proposed by: The Adarch Confederacy

Description: DEFINING: Weapons of Mass Destruction as weapons of extremely destructive potential, regardless of variety. Examples include; Kinetic, Nuclear, Explosive, Biological, Chemical, and possible weaponry advancements such as, laser-based, ion-based, and plasma-based.

ALSO DEFINING: Space as a broad definition for the space surrounding Earth in our solar-system, and all inclusive Celestial Bodies

NOTING: That both theoretical physics test and practical observations show that large explosions in the near-vacuum of space will be unconfined and will be able to produce a shockwave that could have terrible consequences for celestial orbits or the populations, on this Earth or otherwise, of sentient creatures.

CONCERNED: That all nations, wether a member state of this World Assembly or not, are able to wield such weapons in space.

WARNING: That nations that have both WMD in space and imperialistic intentions will not neglect to use such weapons to conquer land within their sphere of influence.

PROPOSING: the outlawing of use of WMD in outer space for all nations, with the creation of a committee appointed by the World Assembly to determine nations that are exempt from the affects of this proposal, especially in regards to present and future members of the security council.

URGING: The Security Council to enforce this proposal with the powers granted to it by the charter of the World Assembly.

SUGGESTING: t

Approvals: 2 (Timmii3, Vancouvia)

Not all of this is illegal, but:

Making the SC do something.
The definition of space is space.
All nations, used in a way that pretty clearly wants to include non members.

Too much illegal. On my phone so the rest of y'all can give the laundry list.

-Doesn't define "extremely destructive potential" in its definition for "WMD"
-Outlaws explosive weaponry, therefore literally outlawing guns
-Definition for "space" basically amounts to saying "space is space"
-Misspelled "whether"
-"[N]ations that have both WMD in space and..." makes literally no sense
-Unnamed committee (I think that's illegal)
-Selective enforcement
-Some BS about the security council
-It has an operative clause, but the wording is awkward as fuck
-"SUGGESTING: t"

If you claim to be religious but don’t control your tongue, you are fooling yourself, and your religion is worthless. Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you. | Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter. On judgment day many will say to me, ‘Lord! Lord! We prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your name and performed many miracles in your name.’ But I will reply, ‘I never knew you. Get away from me, you who break God’s laws.’

I suppose it is questionable, but I doubt it would get the proposal dinged for an illegality. (there are more than enough illegalities in it already).

Oh no. One more illegality doesn't matter in this case. But I doubt the mods would let it pass if they saw it, even if the proposal was otherwise legal.

Restriction of Pornography

A resolution to restrict civil freedoms in the interest of moral decency.

Category: Moral Decency

Strength: Significant

Proposed by: Whovian Tardisia

Description: ACKNOWLEDGING the existence of pornographic material on the internet and in general and APPALLED that many websites do not have age limits whatsoever, the WA hereby declares, with the passing of this resolution, that:

1. All websites with a .xxx domain OR a name that clearly indicates the presence of pornography, MUST have a warning that will either allow or deny access to the site due to honestly stating whether one's age is above or below the age of majority.

2. Any attempt to distribute pornographic material, digital or otherwise, to a person under the age of majority is hereby criminalized.

3. All pornographic material currently possessed by under-aged people, IN DIGITAL FORM OR OTHERWISE, shall be seized by local law enforcement and the individual in question be charged with the appropriate crime (created with the passing of this resolution).

4. All pornographic material FEATURING individuals under the age of majority is hereby illegal to create or possess (UNLESS this clause is already covered by a previously passed resolution).

Approvals: 0

Status: Lacking Support (requires 88 more approvals)

Voting Ends: in 2 days 22 hours

I wouldn't typically post in this thread but I thought this was a right doozy. Silly if not outright illegal (section 4 is an interesting approach to deuplication while the reference to .xxx domains is possibly a RL violation). Criminalising teenagers for their fapping material, well done

Aside from metagaming and first person point of view, this has the typical summerite spelling errors. Not to mention the fact that if we put 10% of our total budget into the military, we would have 25 times more equipment than service members.

Nothing in this resolution shall allow member states or their sub-national jurisdictions from offering a marriage-like alternative to couples such as "civil union" or "domestic partnership" within their laws.

Oh, FFS. This is just stupid. How the hell is this a "human right"? Badly written, too.
Everything you know about me is wrong. Or a rumor. Something like that.

GENERAL ASSEMBLY PROPOSAL
ID: pachatiti_1435714606

GLBTQ marriage

A resolution to improve worldwide human and civil rights.

Category: Human Rights

Strength: Significant

Proposed by: Pachatiti

Description: A proposal to legalize Non-traditional marriage globally.

Remembering that GLBTQ people's are NOT given equal rights in the majority of countries

Believing that the rights of GLBTQ people are NOT fair not justified

Concerned about the acceptance of other orientations of future generations

Convinced that immediate action is necessary to provide equality, sovereignty, and acceptance in those of present and future generations.

The World Assembly hereby:

Instructs the governments of other countries to legalize Non-traditional marriage in such form that everyone has an opportunity for marriagemarriage

Recommends that nations establish help and support centers for the GLBTQ community

Encourages government support and cooperation within the GLBTQ community

Approvals: 0

Status: Lacking Support (requires 87 more approvals)

Voting Ends: in 2 days 19 hours

Strength Violation. Optionality. Bloody Stupid (and this illegality is being overused a lot). And the grammar...
