OOC: Almost tempted to turn ads back on (was gifted ad-freeness by a friend a long while back) - though mine mostly were about online browser games and XXX ads. :P

The Reference Guide was brought over from Jolt, and has been sitting in the Archives since 2009 -- still with the Jolt formatting, but readable. To allay your concerns by easing access, I have linked to it in the Rules list of helpful links and stickied it in the Archives forum. We are trying to keep the number of stickies in the active forum at a less intimidating level.

My adverts are about immigrating illegally to the U.S and how the U.K and U.S are in the Bible.

I guess I was referencing the suggestion that reformatting it to suit these forums was "on the list". In 2010.

Since then, the mods have asked for a more contemporary guide to the GA forum. Kelssek obliged, but got only a few comments after posting, and it sank to the middle of the forums somewhere around 2011.

Oh. I think I might have drifted out of things by that time - I was still playing NS, but not really the WA game - so I may have missed that, in which case, I apologise.

Seeing as ard has since stickied the old reference guide, it's still not formatted correctly, and people nowadays really don't need to know about DEFCON or UN Organizations, yeah, maybe it is time for a new WA reference guide?

Kelssek's guide is also stickied in the Rules under "Helpful Links", and has been since before the section got big enough to be called Helpful Links.

Kryo added a guide to proposal writing when she posted the Rules sticky in 2012.

Any Jolt carry-overs in the Archives cannot now be reformatted, as it's no longer possible to link posts to the actual poster's nation, if live, and the Jolt links are no longer available. If you want to time-travel through saved debates, you'll have to accept the "frozen past" theory.

I am happy to keep linking to whatever useful Guides players write, as you're the ones on the front line. We could probably do with an updater on how to run a TG campaign, given the new tools available, with a bit of informed comment on the investment of time and possibly stamps, the viability of anti- or reversal campaigns, and the timing of submissions. Players could also let mods know of any relevant Dispatches they've made.

Unfortunately, no matter how engaging, witty and informative any Guide is, there's no guide to making people read the bloody thing.

Fine. You can put HotRodia's back in the Archives. It's far too outdated and contains too many dead links (or otherwise links to dead organizations, like Reveal & Repeal and Green Think Tank) to be useful to anyone.

Ooops! I thought I'd sticked it in the Archives, ie, at the top of that forum. Didn't realise until I was fixing the new At Vote that stickying it had moved it here. Back where it belongs now.
