How are they named?

All surface combatants in the Marinian fleet are named after celestial objects visible on the night of the ship's launch: the nation's main air defence destroyers (the Orion class) are all named after constellations, whilst the current Altair-class anti-submarine frigates are named after stars.

All landing ships are named after Marinian coastlines and beaches, such as MNS December Beach, and all capital ships (read: aircraft carriers, as the last battleship was stricken from the Naval register in 1985), are named after famous naval commanders/figures, (such as MNS V.Obitz), or key national/patriotic ideas/objects (such as MNS Independence). Many of these names, particularly in the later category, are reused from old battleships.

Attack submarines are named after predatory animals (such as MNS Tiger), and nuclear missile submarines after storms/sea-based natural phenomena or famous Marinian Presidents.

The navy's main guns for its warships are the Maxman 127mm standard naval gun (similar to Otto-Melara 127mm) and Maxman 76mm dual-purpose naval gun (similar to Otto Melara Super-rapid). However, these are not the primary weapons of Marinian warships, which instead are their Mk 41 VLS cells, and anti-ship missile launchers, which are used with the stealthy LOCM-B anti-ship cruise missile, as well as the older ASM-5 series.

The first Marinian naval branch was founded with the nation in 1805, but the nation's poverty and slowness to industrialise meant it stayed a small, brown water forcre that was unable to defend against piracy, or impede on Royal Navy activities in Marinian waters, which were used to pressure the country diplomatically for years. However, in 1890, when the 3rd Republic was founded, the nation's new leaders set into action a plan which lead to the rapid democratisation, modernisation and industrialisation of society, which in turn meant the nation by 1900 was able to start building a substantial ocean-going navy, with 3 pre-dreadnought battleships and 6 cruisers. Following the decisive battle of the Crane Sea, the newly founded high seas fleet forced the RN out of its waters permanently, and rose to prominence as a naval power.

Eventually came between its modern origin as a defense from everything between terrorists, invaders, and “sea monsters” (not actual sea monsters, but the budget was heavily funded for such due to a former leader’s paranoia). Due to large amounts of naval infrastructure, the Grasp lacks much beach tourism, given most of what they can is dedicated to protecting the shores.

(specific model) OTO 127mm in Almirall Class air defence destroyers127/64 upgraded ones they are replacing OTO 127/54mm guns Frigates of the F90 and Battle Class or Lepant class OTO 76/62. My destroyers are fitted also with cruise missiles but the main armament is missiles and not guns. As the the NSM that is replacing the harpoon or the ASTER 15 and 30. RIM-116, the Goalkeeper 2 CIWS, Oerlikons 20/85 and Probably lasers will be fitted in new Destroyers and frigates. Most minor units are armed with the indigenous FNB CA30 30mm autocannon

Conflict escalated when a civilian pleasure craft of Narland Citizens were captured, savagely brutalized and killed. California still owes the the CDF restitution for allowing such lawlessness to proliferate within its borders. 3 CDF sailors were killed, 7 wounded, and 1 Fast Frigate (CNS Sevier, FF-03) had a dent put in her hull.
