Socialist Party The strongest of the five, the dictator and his two advisors run the country with an iron fist. The socialists are the ones who founded Ajax Prime and seceded from Old Ajax Prime (then was Ajaxia) In the revolution, 3 dictators were killed and democracy started. Est. 1808

Democratic Party Led by 300 people with a small part in the governmental meetings the dictator allows (when he rules). When they came to power they made a law that there must be an election between the parties every 3 years. Were cut down in power by the Socialists. Est. 2003

Free Party Had 2 years of control until Socialists took it over. No hold in gov. meetings but does get a spot in the election. When they are in power, they often make things easier and destroy all that the Socialists worked for. Est. 2008

Facist Party The least succesful of the five, they had a small run in 2007 and then lost it to the Free Party. Then Ajax Prime became a free reich. Anyone caught that is part of this party is killed on the spot. Est. 2004

Communist Party Not much different from the Socialists, a very strong party that often takes control. Est. 1872

Political parties of the PRTPWA
Official Parties
1.The National Progress Party
The current party in power, it has won national elections every time since new legislature was passed by the NPP to make voting voluntary. The party believes in hard punishment, usually military service, for youth, and the death penalty for just about anyone else breaking the law. Is currently battling black market furniture repair and restoration crime families. Does not believe in women's rights. Also, party membership for males over the age of 40 is mandatory. Headed by President Antonio Walabanger.
Illegal Militant Factions
1.People for the Free Representation of All (PFR)
Is known to be money laundering, murdering, and counter-productive. The group engages in defaming the government, usually through peaceful protest. The majority of PFR militants are from neighbouring, more democratic countries, who incidentally do not possess PRTPWA citizenship.
2.Nudist Alliance (NA)
A large group of political dissidents who show their hate for the people of the PRTPWA by going about naked, disturbing the youth and ruining many of their otherwise then happy and productive lives in the factories.
3.Furniture Restorers Inc.
An illegal privately owned crime buisness, taking from what otherwise would be a nationalized industry providing the welfare of all.

New Rhodian Centrist Party: The current majority and leading party in Nouvelle Rhodes, they are a moderate party elected mainly on their history of being flexible on most issues, although they are slightly more liberal. They hold a majority of 60% of Parliament.
Image

Liberal Party of Rhodes: The current opposition government (the leading minority), the liberal party of Rhodes is, by it's name, a party with quite liberal ideals, and can be defined in their ideology as 'democratic socialists'. They hold a solid 20% of the seats in Parliament.
Image

New Rhodian Nationalist Party: One of the three major political parties in the New Rhodian federal parliament. Their main ideologies consist of the bringing together of the Catholic Church and the government of Nouvelle Rhodes, conservatism, and nationalism. Their leader is Ernst van Bruggen. They hold 15% of the seats in Parliament.
Image

United Peace Party: A very obscure minority party in New Rhodes, whose main agenda consists of pushing for more lenient drug laws, and stricter environment laws on businesses. They currently have 5% of the seats in Parliament. Their current leader is environmentalist and writer Elizabeth Storey.

Arnsburg politics was until recently dominated by three massive coalations of several parties.
Now they have been broken up, however, the groups are too numerous to state. After the last elections, though, a few major parties did emerge. Unfortunately, this has meant that congress holds 8 parties who all have small percentages. Thankfully however, the Social Democrats and the Socialist Labourites both hold similar views on most decisions and so basically hold a joint majority.

(from the Social democrat Party)
Social Democratic Party; social democrats, currently in power (22%);
Socialist Labour Party; working-class socialists, opposition party (20%);
Liberal-Green Democratic Union; 4th largest party, Alliance of Social Liberals and Greens (10%);

(from the Worker's Left)
Workers Revolutionary Front; communists, 6th largest party (5%);
Marxist-Communist Alliance; a near uncontrollable rabble of communists and anarchists, 9th largest party (0%);

(from the Christian Democrat Union)
Christian Democratic Alliance; Christian Democrats, 3rd largest party (18%);
People's Nationalist party of Arnsburg; Nationalists, 7th largest party (5%);
The Christian Party; Christian Fundamentalists, 8th largest party (3%);

(from the Liberal Party)
Libertarian Party; Libertarians, fifth largest party (17%).

Freedom Party: The de facto one ruling part of East Congaree. It controlls almost every seat in East Congaree congress, save those the few the govvernment lets win in a few minority areas. The Freedom Party is extremely economically nationalist, socially conservative, believes in a strong military, and is very imperialist. The Freedom Party is mostly lead by white muslims, though the majority of its ranks are Christian. This party also dominates in the country's colonies, dominions, and protectorates. It is by far the most popular party amongst colonial subjects, as it advocates equal treatment and some self-determination for these people.

Liberty Party: The primarily opposition party in East Congaree. This party is overhwhelmingly Hispanic, and holds almost all congressmen from Chihuahua, Coahuilia, Nuevo Leon, Tamaulipas, and Puerto Rico. The Liberty party has a wide range of ideologies, and mostly serves as an alliance of the left, from Democratic Socialists to Authoritarian Communists. Liberty party agents have once assasinated a Confederate president, and almost all elections in their popularity bases were rigged until several years back after some fear of them subsided. Dozens of congressmen, mayors, and civil servants have also been assasinated by Liberty Party members. While not overtly rascist on an official scale, Liberty Party members tend to hate the White, Black, and especially Arab citizens of the Empire. A few whites vote for the Liberty Party in the East. The Liberty Party enjoys negligible amounts of support in the country's colonies, dominions, and protectorates.

Liga de la Libertad: The primary party in the state of Cuba. Although the Freedom Party is heavily present in the state, this party enjoys almost universal support among the island's mestizos, and a great deal of support among Hispanic Whites on the Island. Chinese Cubans seem to have their loyalties about equally divided between this party and the Freedom Party. Black Cubans, while not enjoying the right to vote, support the Freedom Party in most incidences. This party typically takes up a very liberal Democratic to Democratic Socialist stance. A few to the extreme left of the party identify themselves ad communists.

Whig Party: Once the dominant Party of East Congaree, the Whig party now claims a few seats from Maryland, Deleware, and Virginia, where it is popular in some inland areas. The Whig Party is Conservative, but Democratic, unlike its authoritarian to totalitarian counterpart, the Freedom Party. On some occasions, the Whig Party and Freedom Party work together. Almost all Whig Party supporters are upper class whites.

Republican Party: A liberal democratic, universal civil rights party. The Republican Party can claim no seats to the East Congaree congress, but its ramblings are occasionally noticed. The Republican Party usually enjoys small amounts of support from lower-class upland whites and some blacks.

Islamic Brotherhood: A Hadithist, Sunni party in East Congaree. While most Arabs that were encouraged to settle in Louisiana, Arkansas, and Mississippi in the late 20th century have become Qur'anist and are staunch supporters of the Freedom Party, a few embraced violent Wahabist ideas and foudned the Islamic Brotherhood Party. This party may get a few thousand votes in each election, and is heavily suppressed by the Freedom Party.

Progressive Socialist Party

The largest party in Greater Margate. It is a democratic socialist party that believes in the creation of a classless society. It supports the collective ownership of the commanding heights of the economy, whilst the rest of the economy is run by cooperatives and self employed workers. It is socially libertarian and is non-interventionist in foreign policy.

Radical Democrat Party

The second largest party in Greater Margate. It is a liberal, centrist party that believes strongly in individual freedom. It supports limited nationalisation within a market economy that is regulated to ensure worker protection and consumer rights. It is socially libertarian and has an interventionist approach to foreign policy.

Communist Party of Greater Margate

The CPGM believes in a fully nationalised economy run by and for the working class. It is socially libertarian and internationalist in foreign policy. It believes that ‘full’ socialism can only be achieved through a revolution and that after the revolution the state will begin to whiter away.

National Democrat Party

A conservative party that believes in free market economics and privatisation. It is socially authoritarian and traditionalist and believes in foreign intervention ‘in the national interest’.

The Green Party

Environmentalist party that believes in creating a sustainable economy and conserving the natural environment.

The Social Unionist Party

A far right, fascist party that believes in the creation of a authoritarian, racially pure society. Economically it supports a form of protectionist, state controlled, capitalism and has an aggressive, expansionist foreign policy.

Social Democrats: A center-left socialist partly that is currently in power. They are progressively liberal, and in their ten years of ruling they have made substantial advances in civil rights, such as the legalization of gay marriage, abortion and cannabis. They have also risen the social welfare payments, made steps towards a universal healthcare system and slightly scaled back the size and powers of the military and police force. People have praised their efforts and successes, but critics note that crime had taken a rise since their induction into power, as has the number of people claiming unemployment and benefits despite there being a growth in the jobs market.

Connagh National Party: A neo-fascist party which stands as the main opposition to the Social Democrats. Although they commend the advances in civil liberties, they take a very negative stance on the SDs cut backs on the police and military. They were the largest party in Connagh from the 1920s until the late 1960s. While in power, they were the driving force behind the industrialization of the country and were almost single-handedly responsible for its launch into the 20th and 21st centuries. Before their rise to power, Connagh was a largely agrarian economy, and quite behind in terms of technology. Through mechanization of the agri sectors, the creation of semi-state bodies and the investment into research and development they created a modern state. Despite their successes, under their rule there were some serious human rights issues, including the persecution of the travelling communities, suppression of free speech and the enforcement of uniformity.

Planet's Party: The smallest of the three main parties in Connagh - they are the countries environmental party, and their policies mainly focus around the protection of the environment, reform of the primary industries and the scale back of the secondary (manufacturing) sectors. They have a strong support base from environmentally conscious citizens and those from rural areas (who fear large resource companies mining their areas).

Imperial Party: A recent party of radical minded politicians who wish to restore the old Empire. They have not made clear their agendas or ideals other than they attempt to link themselves closely with the National Party (who deny any links). The party leader is 34 year old Christian Marks, an ex Army Lieutenant who claims the country is in a dire state of instability, and needs serious reform.

The Conservative Party
The right-wing, religious party of New Block Island. It values capitalism, republicanism, constitutional monarchy and fusion of church and state. Membership is at 757 (we have a very low population of only about 2400 people). Queen Sarah herself is a member of the conservative party.

The Libertarian Party
The nation's socially moderate and fiscally conservative party, it works with the conservative party on certain issues but sometimes they disagree socially. There are 800 members*, making it the largest political party in New Block Island.

The Anarcho-Capitalist Party
The more extremist version of libertarianism. Often clashes with the conservative party on social issues and occasionally on economic problems, though they usually agree on these types of things. Membership is 483, the smallest of the three political parties.

*Membership includes children under 18. Citizens register as families rather than individuals, however official party censuses count individuals. This leaves at least 62 citizens ambiguous.
**Also, this is as of registration in the 2010 Census. Numbers may have changed. Results of the census will be released on March 2nd.

There are three political parties represented in the National Assembly of Gynocracy.

Following the General Election which resulted in a hung Parliament an uneasy coalition between the largest single party, the Gynocrats and the former opposition, the Feminist Alliance, resulted.

The Gynocrat Party continues to stand for low taxes, a strong defence policy, a tough line on law and order, and as little government spending as possible. It is also currently attempting to introduce reforms to improve the status of males within the country who are are currently discriminated against in many areas of life but its coalition partners, the Feminist Alliance, are arguing with them over their desire to increase taxes, cut defence spending, take a more liberal line on law and order and increase government spending. The main disagreement between them though is on how far the reforms in the status of males should go. The Feminist Alliance wants full equality with males enjoying the same status as females while the Gynocrats proposed only limited changes.

The third party, the Vixens, is now the official opposition. It stands for the abolition of all taxes, a strong defence policy, a tougher line on law and order than the government's, and what it calls 'directed' government spending. It is currently campaigning to reduce the present status of males within Gynocracy to the position of slaves, its election slogan being 'Enslave the Males!'

The Gynocracy Security Service has become increasingly concerned about the possibility of civil war as the Vixens have huge appeal among younger females and one of the leading army officers is openly sympathetic towards them.

Since Rhodevus is not a democracy, our political parties hold different meanings and run for different parts of government than an ordinary republic system. In Rhodevus, parties run for provincial and municipal positions as well as spots on the house of commons and senate. On top of political parties, there are also those who run as independents. These will not be spoken about here. The parties will be listed by who has the most seats in the senate.

Out of:
122 seats, senate
340 seats, House of Commons
6 Premierships
2 Territory Governorships

Liberals (Red) [44 seats Senate, 184 seats HoC, 2 Premierships]

The Liberal Party is at the moment the dominant party in Rhodevus, with strong minorities in both the Senate and House of Commons. They possess two premierships. The Liberal party is one of Rhodevus's longest and largest parties, having been created in 1715 as the Forwards Party of Rhodevus, before changing to the Liberal Party in 1845. The party has made a huge resurgence, after nearly 15 years falling behind in the polls. The party believes in lower taxes on the lower classes, and bigger government involvement in general facets of Rhodeve life. They are a supporter of green energy and increasing welfare and medical spending. They have a strong relationship with the Green Party, together passing laws and creating a small majority government.

Conservatives (Blue) [31 seats Senate, 98 seats HoC, 1 Premierships]

The Conservative party is the second of Rhodevus's longest and largest parties, being founded in 1715 under the title Pax Conservica, and changing to the Conservative partt of Rhodevus in 1845. Leading the polls for the last 15 year, the party believes in taxing the wealthy less, smaller government and more spending to promote corporations and companies. Though the party supports green energy, they wish to continue to use Rhodevus's large expanses of oil and coal to keep Rhodevus as a world energy superpower. They wish to decrease welfare spending and increase education, military and police spending.

Environmentalists (Green) [17 seats Senate, 39 seats HoC, 1 Premierships, 2 Territory Governorships]

A favourite by Rhodevus's territories, the Environmentalist Party (often referred to as the Green Party), as been elected as the Governors of the territories for the last eight election cycles, with no sign of this trend stopping. The party was created in 1959 and believes in more environmental spending, ending the usage of oil, coal and natural gas and the increased spending on environmental energy research and tax cuts of green companies. They believe in increased medical and far decreased military spending. The party works closely with the Liberal Party, helping to create a small majority government with them.

Royalists (Purple) [11 seats Senate, 7 seats HoC, 1 Premierships]

The Royalist Party of Rhodevus was founded in 1892 and has generally held the place of either third or fourth place in the polls. They believe in giving more power to the reigning monarch. They wish to increase minimum wage to 17.50 Rhodes (current is 15 Rhodes) as well as create completely free education (instead of partially paid education). The Royalist party does not wish to increase medical or environmental spending, but wishes to lower police, military spending and raise welfare spending.

Imperialists (Yellow) [3 seats Senate, 12 seats HoC]

The smallest of the parties, the Imperialist Party (often called the Yellow Party) was founded in 1939, and calls for the reestablishment of the Rhodeve empire or expansion of Rhodeve power. The Yellow Party wants greatly increased medical, military and police spending, and vastly decreased welfare and environmental spending. They also wish to change the Rhodeve voting system back to First Past the Post.
