good, good. only thing is, the Africa is a bit different in that a mountain range seperate the sahara from the sub-sahara, and pretty much everything south of the mountains is intense jungle, except for the cape, which is the same as is today. Is this ok with you?

Beddgelert isn't based in Africa -rather the Indian sub-continent- but I've long RPd involvement in Madagascar, where we've intervened several times to prop-up the old Socialist government, and twice to fend-off western imperialists, meaning that currently there's a small Soviet presence on the island. However, with the turn being taken in Beddgelen politics, any excuse to make Madagascar perhaps the seventieth Soviet State within the Commonwealth would be lept upon. I think I'd be okay with saying that 'my' Madagascar and 'your' Madagascar are one and the same, if you like. The place will never have been so strategically important!

Super. I'll be sure to let you know if the Soviets start doing anything significant there, but mostly likely we'll wait for something that can be interperated as a threat/challenge to the shaky Socialist government we support. For now there's a small Soviet base at Toamasina, where support is strong, and a small presence in the capital, where the opposition is strong and needs reminding who the nation's, uhm, friends are.
