He was great in SOAD, but I personally believe that his music has drastically improved ever since he became a solo artist.

He has so much more freedom to openly express his political views, as he's a very politically motivated artist with some....extremist leftist views that I seem to agree with.

I believe that anyone who was witness to post 9/11 America will find the music video to "Empty walls" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-CxKA1uETxE&feature=channel to be very touching. It really tugged at my heart strings. The pulsating beat with the fast paced riffs and strong punky vocals mixed with opera-like vocals is just a perfect combination for the deep meaningful lyrics this man seems to just radiate.

The Unthinking majority http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WQeRG72E3OM&feature=related is another really inspirational song. Completely describes my view towards modern American culture and politics, even late into the Obama era, we need total reform.

So, basically I'm just trying to spread the world of this wonderful artist who I believe helps destroy ignorance and stupidity. But like he said, "if only a song could change the world" - Honking antelope.
Humans AREN'T monkeys, they're apes.

As an atheist, my view is that all religions are equally as true as the last.
Hehehe :)

YOU HAVE BEEN CONDITIONED SINCE BIRTH
THINKof how many references to "god" you say in your daily life,
"God!", "Damn it!", "Hell!", "Oh lord!", "Bless you", "holy shit!", "Godspeed" etc.
THINK of all the war propaganda you endure every day
NEWS, VIDEO GAMES, MOVIES, MUSIC, COMMERCIALS.
THINK of how avid consumerism is a part of your life.
Brand loyalty, Commercialism, Drug company monopolies, Class dictated by wealth, Bailouts.
CAPITALISM IS NOT THE SAME AS CONSUMERISM.

Relax....

"There's a time when the operation of the machine becomes so odious—makes you so sick at heart—that you can't take part. You can't even passively take part. And you've got to put your bodies upon the gears and upon the wheels, upon the levers, upon all the apparatus, and you've got to make it stop. And you've got to indicate to the people who run it, to the people who own it, that unless you're free, the machine will be prevented from working at all." -Mario Savio

I liked his first solo album, but found the second one rather boring.
Scars on Broadway was pretty cool though, but I'm still waiting for the day Serj and Daron finds out that they make better music together and bring together System of a Down once again.
