Gameplay mod(s)

Postby Sedgistan » Mon Oct 11, 2010 1:56 pm

3 months ago we had this announcement by Ardchoille, encouraging gameplayers to nominate potential mods from amongst themselves, to help the mod team replace the knowledge of the Gameplay community which was lost when Erastide retired. From having spoken to others (and from having sent in one myself), I know that several people were nominated, and there was quite a lot of enthusiasm amongst gameplayers about the news.

Since then, we haven't heard anything more about it. I know these things take time, and I'm probably being impatient, but I'd like to know if the suggestions that were made are still being considered - or perhaps whether the mod team are still looking for more nominations? Either way, some kind of update on what's happening would be appreciated.

Yeah... it typically takes months for us to settle on a new mod. :oops: We start the discussion, get distracted from it, get back to it, then holy shit Max pops by with his opinions, then it's all OMG BUT THE BOSS SAID-! and.... yeah. Long process. ^^;

If someone has an additional nomination -- say, things have changed in three months, and someone is available to be a mod that wasn't available then -- can we contact you guys and gals with one? The email account you've supplied us is currently invalid.

I'd think I'd lose my mind if Max popped by and personally gave me his opinionand/or crap my pants

Are you guys really all "OMG BUT THE BOSS SAID-!" when discussing this? Can't you just have a vote amongst yourselves, and if Max explicitly points out a user, maybe give him a number value of greater voting power? Make a list of the nominees, the mods vote for whoever would be a good choice, and if Max gives his vote, let it count for five instead of one.

I sent my nomination to nominateanationstatesmod@gmail.com - which used to be listed as the address to send nominations to.

And, heh, any word on this little endeavor?

How'll about you just choose both of us, I'm sure we could work out our difficulties. It'd be like a good ol' buddy cop film. :p

Think about it! Two renegade sheriffs in the wild west -- breaking all of the rules, with remarkably vulgar English and an inclination to be indistinguishable from the criminals that they persecute.. it's got a lot of potential and vision.

It is my understanding that I am still in contention for this position.

Didn't you have a nation deleted recently?

Probably doesn't make you a front runner.

Nonsense, I am the front runner... and I don't even have to run being that I have that much of a lead on the rest of the field.

An hour after we cash the cheque.

Tagmatium wrote:Didn't you have a nation deleted recently?

It depends. If the cheque's good, then, hell, what's a DEAT or two between friends? It was probably just youthful high spirits.

If the cheque bounces, we slam him for spamming Moderation. (Everybody else here is, of course, making relevant on-topic posts about a matter that closely concerns them. ;) )

Win-win.

I thought it would do, considering a mod isn't exactly limited to which areas of the forums they oversee.

Just to clarify -- he didn't nominate himself. Sedge was thoughtfully dropping somebody else in it. But karma caught up with him. *snicker*
