The Imperial Conference-INVITE

Imperial Commonwealth Palace, Harmony Court, Bardust

As Sir Robert stood in the waiting chamber and the royal delegations took their seats he knew that today was the most important day of his life. It was these people that ultimately held his future and the future of the commonwealth in their hands.

"Sir Robert?" the young page whispered, "everyones seated, you're up"

With that Sir Robert stepped into the light and among his fellow royalist.

"My lords, honourable ladies and gentlemen. You have come here today to share in our goals of an undying and everlasting form of governance. Whether your allegiance lays within your king, queen, grand duke or sultan, it is through their grace that all things are possible and all things will come to light. As we sit, their forces that look to disable this most noble system, great forces that will use all tool of manipulation to blindly lead our populations astray. It is our responsibility to stand united in our values where no more a monarch will be bullied and forced out by power hungry politicians ruled by big business and hopes of re-election. With that said, I am proud to open the first conference of the Imperial Commonwealth, a body devoted to promoting and preserving the system of government that has served our people so well. Through political, economic, socio/cultural and military means we will be able to work closer together and ensure that our interests are heard and our influence increased across the world stage."

Sir Robert then took his seat in the Imperial high Commissioner Chair , " I, Sir Robert Olivier, Acting Imperial High Commissioner now proclaim in the year of our lord 2010 the 1st Imperial Commonwealth Conference open."

Lord Robert Bennett walked into the room dressed in the traditional military dress of the Haalstadian Nobility. He approached Sir Robert and said "I am very eager to get to business. This society is a shinning light in a world dominated by socialist oligarchies and communist dictatorships."

Lord David Christopher, in an old Spartinthian suit, strode over to Sir Robert. "Well, let's see how this goes. I think it will be a great organization. When will we vote on offices?"

King Gideon walked in together With shimon HaKohen Gadol. They were ssuprised to see that so little people were here. Maybe they were early or every one was late. Who knew? They sat down next to each other shimon of coarse wearing the 8 garments of A Kohen Gadol which looked like this. Image They had recently joind the group and were excited about having an alliance so early in this game. They were also on the verge of catching a giant named og who's ankle alone was 40 feet tall. Gideon walked in with a gold diamond studded crown royal red robes a gold belt and sheathed in this belt was Saul's sword the first straight sword the Israelites had. Which looked like Image

"Their Most Serene Majesties King Leonid II and Queen Jewel of Astralsideria!"

A tall man who looked younger than his fifty-seven years entered, wearing his formal court dress (black Napoleonic-military-style jacket, red high collar, white pantaloons, black Hessian boots, decorative sword, medals, stars, sash, and flowing kimono-like sleeves with the Royal Arms printed on them). On his arm was a stunningly beautiful woman, considerably younger than the King, wearing a beautiful light peach court dress. They moved over to Sir Robert, to whom His Most Serene Majesty gave a slight bow. Her Most Serene Majesty settled for a radiant smile, the smile which had won Astralsideria over to her after the King remarried when his first Queen died.

The King spoke: "Sir Robert, I must apologise for being rather later than ideal. I should like to assure you that Viscount Ceciliana and Viscountess New Sanguenay will not be as late in future as my wife and I are tonight. They hope to join us later, but they had some problems with their transport, I gather. I sincerely hope we may be of some service this evening." The King put his arm around the Queen's shoulder, and they left Sir Robert to circulate amongst the rest of the delegates.

The warm receptions given to Sir Robert by the various delegations reassured to him that this new venture was to be relatively success, at the least. Regardless, this was not a party but official meet that had to begin soon.

striking the gavel, Sir Robert called the discussion to order.

"my most noble friends, I am most very grateful for your attendance today but if it is our wish to succeed in our goal we must go forward of identify our leadership.As acting Imperial High Commissioner the election for Lord Speaker is as standing;

Lord Speaker
Sir Darren Crowden, The Constitutional Monarchy of Birnadia
The Rt. Hon. Sir Dresden Santander, Second Viscount Ceciliana, KMC, COQS, The Most Serene Kingdom of Astralsideria
Alexander Jefferson, The Colony of Newmassachusetts

My lords, I ask of you to vote for the honourable member whom you feel fit for this position"

Shimon had no idea who any of these people were. Or what they had done to deserve this honor. So he stood up his breastplate swinging and he asked "Excuse me but In order for me and his highness to vote we may need some further information on these candidates" He said rearranging the plate on his hat.

Gideon was thinking about why he was even getting involved in the government of the cannanim. He then decided it would be best if the people of Noach new his people it would help to prevent blood shed.

Duke of Merendith, Peter Roberts smiled broadly as he entered the room. His right hand clamped on to his left wrist, placed behind his hands in a casual position. Looking around slightly he awkwardly fixed at his navy blue jacket, the gold lion crest becoming illuminated as it met with the rays from the lights. The ancinet curved sword of the Duke of Merendith hung to his side with a golden lions head placed at the hilt of the sword. Its mouth remained open as if it was gathering himself, waiting to roar at any opponent foolish enough to face him. The mane was wild but gave the impression of a hint of nobility, as if to show that although it was civilized it fought to control its barbaric routes.

Behind the duke at only a few feet away was his Royal Body Guard. Dark blue lines swirled around his face in the ancient patterns of the Order of the Lion which had been passed down from generation to generation. His dark black hair was slicked back and the lights seemed to reflect off it here and there as he walked. To his side hung his curved sword, ready to be pulled in order to protect the one he is guarding. Hidden behind his jacket and placed in a holster was a 9mm pistol with the saftey off. His eyes darted back and forth, gazing at the crowds and anticipating an attack at any moment. He was the same age as Duke Roberts, 33 years exactly as of a few weeks ago. Gobaithean tradtion made these two man blood brothers, only strengthening their bond and the guards devotion to protect this man.

As Sir Robert began to speak, Duke Roberts quickly found a seat near the back in hopes of not disturbing any of the other guests. His guard stood behind him, occasionaly lifting his index and middle finger to his ear to press against the ear peice to listen to the same phrase over and over which was simply "Pawb Amlyma" or in english, "All Clear". The duke remained still, intently listening to Sir Robert speak. A slight chuckle escaped his lips as he listened to Shimon, nodding slightly in agreement. It wasn't logical to vote for a person he had no knowledge of nor what qualifies them for the position.

"Viscount Ceciliana," began the King of Astralsideria, "has served with distinction as Lord President of the Executive Council for the last twenty-three years, and has left now only to take up this role. In that time, His Lordship, who will be arriving at any time now, I am told, has always been able to opine without allowing his opinion to infringe his role as an impartial chair of discussion. He has proved himself supremely capable of handling any level of workload, and has demonstrated superb levels of punctuality. The fact that he is late at this meeting is due to mechanical fault on his plane, and should not in any way reflect on him."

At that moment, the doors opened, and a man in a less elaborate version of the King's court uniform entered hurriedly, and knelt at the King's feet. "Your Most Serene Majesty, I can only apologise"

The King brought him to his feet, and directed him to Sir Robert. Having made profuse apologies to all he had inconvenienced, Viscount Ceciliana sat behind his monarch.

The King spoke. "You will have observed, gentlemen, the sincere embarrassment felt by the Viscount due to arriving late. This is truly representative of his sterling service to myself and my nation over the last two-and-a-half decades. If there are no objections, I shall allow my delegate to take the lead from here on."

After having switched seats with the Viscount, His Most Serene Majesty sat silently, listening to those who spoke next.

Alexander Jefferson took the floor. "Hello all. I am Alexander Jefferson, Vice-President of the Colonial Board of Commerce for the Colony of Newmassachusetts and ambassador to the Imperial Commonwealth from Newmassachusetts. Now, I know you are thinking, Why should I vote for this guy from a small colony. Well, being from a small colony, I am unbiased towards certain nations. And, being the Vice-President of the Colonial Board of Commerce, I am used to chairing and moderating meetings and making sure that they run as they are supposed to. If I am elected I will be sure to listen to both sides in the event of a deadlock before I cast my tie braking vote. And I arrived on time, unlike Viscount Ceciliana. Thank you for listening."

Viscount Ceciliana stood, meekly. "Although I should like to echo His Most Serene Majesty in pointing out that unpunctuality is anything but customary for me, I must emphasise that I cannot offer an unqualified guarantee that I will not arrive late again. I will therefore understand if the nations here assembled choose not to elect me to office."

The King leant forward and whispered something into the Viscount's ear, before sitting back with a slight smile. The Viscount turned his head and mouthed the words "Thank you, Your Most Serene Majesty".

Lord David liked Viscount Ceciliana's resume, but being late was off-putting. He understood it was a plane malfunction but he could have found another way here. Also he seemed a little, unsure of himself. Like the he was a puppet and the King controlled him. Alexander, however, had a smaller resume but was strong in his words and seemed very confident. He also liked the fact that he was from a small, unbiased Colony. Even though its a Colony of Spartinth, it's a very independent colony. Now all that was left was to here from Sir Darren Crowden.

Alexander took the floor again. "I do not believe that those issues have anything to do with this office. The duties of the Lord Speaker, according to the constitution of the Imperial Commonwealth, are and I quote "The lord speaker is the moderator of the Commonwealth Council and chairs all meeting of the council. The lord speaker is elected by the council at the start of the new session and serves for the entire duration. All motions are presented by the lord speakers and they cast tie breaking vote when the council enters a deadlock.". I feel that those issues are why the Imperial Commonwealth was created, to protect monarchies from the issues and the communists, among others. Yes, Monarchies have been around for a while. But I believe that being an older form of government gives us an advantage over other forms of government. And what exact problems are you speaking of, with the communists?"
