True, but wouldn't you like to be out of a recession?

Eh, the recession has its perks.

Like what? Making the Repubs more unpopular?

As the average voter has the attention span of the common housefly, a recession is merely bad news for the incumbent. In 2008, people hated the Republicans because Bush was in office when the crisis happened. In 2012, the same people may hate the Democrats because they haven't managed to clean up the mess yet.

Well, in both cases the parties failed to live up to their principles or the expectations they built up in voters so it's understandable. Politics is by its nature pretty short-lived; unless a party really, really does a lot of good things and sticks to its principles, it'll be kicked out of office as soon as possible.

This went from a "I'm a european and i'm gonna bash the US!" conversation to a "I'm an American and here's 50 billion reasons why you suck and we are better!" back to "No your not as you obviously are stupid because your an american!" conversation. Ah NationStates.net breeding tolerance and ignorance hopefully for years to come.

And to think people seriously thought the internet would break down those barriers of ignorance and intolerance and usher in a new global consciousness...

This whole thread has been one complete embarrassment.

For fuck's sake... What was the OP's little grain of truth, a quarter or two of German growth? I mean, from that, so many people in this thread have extrapolated all sorts of nonsense.

Ah yes, the old "My penis military is bigger than your penis military" argument.

I must say, I've greatly enjoyed the nationalistic dickwaving in this thread.
