As a democratic socialist (and a homosexual foreigner to boot), Alain was arrested by the Zedlacher loyalist Internal Security agency (his dog was left behind and eventually wound up as a messenger animal for the communist militia besieged within the city). He was transferred to a holding camp for foreigners outside the national capital of Battleford, recovered documents post-war show that he and the rest of the prisoners were to be liquidated. Luckily for him, the camp was overrun during the Liberation of Battleford by a airmobile Fire Force unit. He was one of the few prisoners that survived the resulting firefight, and was discovered by OGPU prior to being taken to an evacuation site. He was offered a honorary position in the Consolidated Front Aerospace Force and helped to train F/A-40 pilots, however he was able to score several more kills during emergency scrambles. In the final days of the war he flew with the 441st Strategic Squadron and was among the pilots that engaged and shot down the ISS Vigilance.

He was the recipient of several awards including the Foreign Volunteer Cross and a pension, his dog was reunited with him prior to returning to Demoque.

After a few years of soldiering, Kubrick requested the oppurtunity to broaden his horizons, and has taken temporary leave from RIDF service, which he has filled with odd jobs as a mercenary. Hearing of the civil war, he has decided to come to Isiztan to try and ply his trade.

Dispite linguistic difficulties, Kubrick is given a commission in the "self defense force" of the Democratic Izistani Republic, a warlord faction occupying the city of Baljennie and the surrounding area. Despite the name, the faction exists mostly to serve as a means of enriching the small clique of ex-naval officers running it. As a result, they enjoy no support from the population what so ever, and the only means of controlling the area is with mercenaries. The area has no strategic value what so ever, and as such was not bothered by the major factions.

Post Battleford, the Revolutionary Command institutes Plan Buran and opens offensive operations. CF armies easily advance down the coast. Rioting breaks out in Baljennie, mercenary units are mobilized to put them down. Kubrick and his unit refuse to take part and he is relieved of his commission and confined with his men to their barracks. OGPU units enter the city and distribute arms to the ad-hoc militias that are forming. Operatives make contact with Kubrick and offer to spare him and his mens lives if they would turn on their ex-masters.

Kubrick agrees.

The unit breaks out of confinement with the aid of smuggled weapons and seize the members of the ruling clique before they can escape. A simultaneous landing by Naval Infantry force the surrender of remaining mercenaries. With the city liberated, the surviving mercenaries are transported to a labor camp jointly operated by Izistan and ZMI in the extreme north of Haven. 80% mortality follows as they hack roads from ice and rock, the survivors are loaded into the holds of aging cargo ships, ostensibly to be released. These ships are scuttled in the open ocean with the men sealed inside.

Kubrick and his men avoid this fate as per deal. They are interned for the duration of the war, and following the end of hostilities in Izistan proper, they are given a one way ticket to a nation of their choice and barred from ever setting foot on Izistani soil again.

Patrick arrives in Izistan just as the General Strike erupts in Battleford. He is witness to the resulting massacre and crackdown, as he flees his burning hotel he is arrested and beaten. Charged with being a foreign spy, he would normally face summery execution; however with widespread mutiny in the armed forces and civilian uprisings in every major city, the police evacuated the detention center and withdrew to the Loyalist controlled section of Battleford.

Patrick is freed by a anarchist militia who liberate the political prisoners of that particular center. His experience as a paramedic enables him to find work with the civilian medical service struggling under siege conditions, the casualties sustained by repeated militia offensives by the ineffectual Leninist leadership, and air bombardment provide him with plenty of trauma care experience. During the Liberation of Battleford, Patrick was caught up in hand to hand combat as loyalist guerrillas overran the defenses of the hospital he was assigned to. He was badly wounded in the fighting, but was instrumental in buying time for a Rapid Response Force to cut off and slaughter the guerrillas, limiting patient deaths.

As the medical care in Battleford proper was substandard by Izistani reckoning, and with Battleford now in contact with the outside world, contact was established with the relevant authorities New Hayesalia, and Patrick was MedEvac'd home. Post-war he was awarded the Foreign Volunteer Cross, the Battleford Liberation Medal, and was awarded a pension.

Peter made the mistake of associating with a small Libertarian/an-cap collective in rural Izistan. When the revolution broke out they found themselves behind the lines in a CF controlled area. However, at the age of 17, she was called by a female Coelophysis "Fat" due to her huge weight. Poor Sarah joined the military, lying about being 18 when she was in reality 17 1/2. Because of her amazing athletic ability (and partly because the officer watching developed a crush on the teen), she wound up as a soldier in the Advanced Recon Force (ARF), where she endured five grueling years of special forces training. Thanks to her great strength, she endured, and is now a soldier in this elite force.

Hidetoshi was intercepted and detained by OGPU after entering the country. Izistan rarely received non-human visitors, and it was believed that he was the result of some kind of transgenetic and super soldier program. He was detained at a secure, deep buried, research facility and found himself as the subject of a intense biological research program (he was not harmed). He was released a few months before the final southern offensives that ended the war, and given a plane ticket to Willink.
Tissue samples and cell cultures were used to study the feasibility of a targeted biological weapon under Project BL-DREAMWALKER. However the program was suspended prior to the actual development of a deliverable weapon as funding was redirected towards BK-ZAMBIA in light of the existential threat that URS-1 represented.

Biography: As Schultaria Prime became saddled with greater international liabilities, representatives and emissaries from every facet of the national government found themselves on the move as informal ambassadors for the Schultarian state. A key contributor of high caliber artillery and nuclear ordinance to the SKC in its most formative stages, the Schultarian civilian government and military high command thought it crucial to rebuild long idle ties with the Izistani government. In an effort to rebuild commercial and diplomatic ties between Izistan and Schultaria, the military thought it fitting to return to an exchange of military technology as a trust building measure.

Ms. Solvar is the lead technical representative of the Izistan-bound Schultarian delegation. As a commander during Operation: Brimstone she was in charge of the sole artillery brigade to see combat in Zarbian-controlled Tanzania. Among the many accolades she received during the conflict, Achrenna is solely credited with proving the effectiveness of Izistani-derived Templar artillery systems in both indirect fire and anti-tank roles. Unfortunately the manufacturing facility that produced the high temperature ceramics required for reactor maintain and construction, as a result she managed to secure an export deal to provide said items.
She was touring a field nuclear weapons depot behind the lines at Qu’Appelle when the tactical exchange began. Although the site was not targeted, it was in the path of the fallout plume from nearby strikes and Achrenna was required to spend several very uncomfortable days in the on site fallout center before decontamination equipment arrived.
Post-war she worked as the Schultarian TURATOM liaison, and secured several technology transfer agreements. One of these was solution uranium mining*, and the sea floor mining derivative. This had the side effect of opening another fuel market for the UWS to take advantage of.

When she was brought back into consciousness and the extent of her intelligence was made apparent, the veterinarians panicked and immediately contacted the authorities on the mainland. She was covertly tranquilised and transported to the biological warfare center in Arelee province and quarantined. It was not the fact that she was not human, but when a honest to god dinosaur is not only sentient but capable of communication...This scared REVCOM. Conventional neurobiology had been turned on its head, and it was hypothesized that her species had been uplifted. Sarah died suddenly after several months in captivity, the extent of her injuries having been underestimated. She was immediately autopsied before they proceeded to cool her down to a glass state for serial sectioning and scanning.

Immediately after the war REVCOM ordered the formation of Project BK-ZAMBIA (which would only answer directly to REVCOM). The low brain to weight ratio present in these intelligent dinosaurs raised concerns that they, or the unknown agency behind their creation, could achieve superior intelligence to a normal human with further engineering. As a result, Saursia was deemed a Class Three existential threat. Tissue samples from Sarah allowed for the creation of a crash cloning program, initially creating brain dead ‘meat puppets’ with techniques purchased from Vault 10. These not only helped gain more insight into the physiology of dinosaurs, but made it possible for the primary goal of the program to proceed.

The development of species specific biological weapons.

The research stations operating from Daemonfels were reactivated. It was agreed early on that the best results would be given from a weaponized mycological agent, Izistan having a great deal of experience with the commercial application of engineered fungal species. The program eventually put a line of Sarah clones into operation for practical weapons testing, concerns over the morality of such a thing were suppressed by the perceived threat that Saursia posed. High level elements in Vault Ten and ZMI were made aware of the situation and the research was made available to their own BW programs. This was completely out of character for the Izistani state, however it was deemed necessary in the face of a perceived existential threat.

Research quickly became focused on an analogue of Nannizziopsiosis found in the jungles of Mazara Palani. Unlike conventional Nannizziopsiosis, which was nasty enough on its own, this particular strain would remain asymptomatic (although producing spores) for three months before displaying symptoms, and in addition, produced gilotoxin (an immunosuppressant). It was a simple matter to engineer it for drug resistance. REVCOM authorized general production of this agent, along with covert spore dispersal systems. It was anticipated that the spores would be released by VRA agents masquerading as tourists, inhalation and skin contact would cause exponential distribution from that point on. 90% direct mortality was observed in testing, the remaining ten percent fell victim to opportunistic infection caused by the gilotoxin.

The spores are currently stockpiled in the lunar facilities following the end of BK-ZAMBIA, recorded as a typical anti-agricultural fungus in the official records (not available to the public).

A very interesting storyline - something that she could pen her memoirs by (once her career with Designwerks is declassified, hehe).

There were about 8,000 Templar pieces still in use by my military during the time the Op: Brimstone was in full swing, with at least 2 divisions still in active service. My military decided to use them instead of locally-built counterparts (such as the Devas) because of the fear that other nations might capture and reverse engineer heavily guarded technical secrets. In the end Templar howitzers proved themselves so well (in one instance being used as impromptu tank destroyers in the streets of Dar es Salaam), that the military decided to make an improved version of the Izistan 155mm cannon as the primary combat engineer / light artillery weapon for the Kerga-Akamarm fire support vehicle (albeit misspelled as the Kerga-Izsistania cannon system). You can find it in my armory guide (pg. 21-23).

As for the Californium weapon, it's been something that I've tried to get off the ground for over a year, but never had enough participation / activity to get momentum to actually build the thing. Perhaps we might have to do a test of the weapon as a joint experiment between you, Spiz, and me in the not too distant future.

Biography: When he was born his parents were running a small restaurant. At an early age he had trouble breathing, but by the time he was 7 it had passed. After that he had a pretty healthy childhood, and a normal one at that. He was never good with math but he worked hard enough that he graduated highschool. Soon after, the 3 year war broke out and he slipped into the ranks of the 62nd army and saw combat in the east. At some point during this time he fell in love with a young girl whom he married. They now happily run a store.
