Welcome to the second Cup of Peace! This championship is for teams who are inexperienced (though experienced teams may participate, but need permission) or for teams who haven't qualified for the World Cup. First-time teams are permitted for host, and the maximum of countries allowed to host together is 4. The tournament must be scorinated by either NEW! NSFootySim 3 or xkorinate, and the cup is made of 24 carat gold, with a figurette of the goddess Reppy holding the world on her mighty finger. Host bids are open immdiately. Enjoy it!

The Novikovský Futbalový Zväz is proud to present the (revised) Novikovian bid to host the Cup of Peace II:



Format

I will close signups after the first sixteen teams have entered, keeping the Cup of Peace relatively small while still expanding the number of participants by 1/3rd. These sixteen teams will be broken down into four groups of four teams each. Each group will play a round robin, with the top two teams of each group advancing to the knockout rounds. In the group stage, ties will be broken by goal difference, head-to-head, number of wins and if necessary a playoff match, in that order.

Group draws will be conducted live on #NSSport at a time to be announced later.

Scorination

All scorination will be done with the new NSFootySim 3.0, using a full range of style modifiers from -5 to +5.

In order to level the playing field and encourage roleplay, each team's starting KPB points will be factored in using the following formula: (X+(X/2))/2, where X is the team's current KPB points, as of the end of WC51. Each team will be able to earn a total of 1.5 additional KPB points each day as an RP bonus. This will effectively reduce each team's starting KPB points by 1/4, allowing the roleplay bonus to more greatly influence the results of the tournament. This is the same format used by Virabia and Novikov in the previous Cup of Peace.

To prevent host bias in scorination, Virabia has agreed to score all Novikovian matches. Should Virabia and Novikov meet in the tournament, their match will be scored by an experinced third party.

Experince

The player behind Novikov has experience running domestic leagues with NSFootySim 2.0.7 and co-hosting the previous Cup of Peace with Virabia.

Scheduling

Tentatively the CoP II will be scheduled immediately following the upcoming BoF in order to allow our less experienced participants to participate in that event without interfering with the CoP.

Just an idea. Why don't yo not have ranks and make it purely an Rp tournament? That way it would be a little less predictable and maybe would draw a few more high RP participants in.

It'll be left up to the hosts. However, the reason I did it that way in the first Cup of Peace:

I was always aiming for a system that incorporated both the nations performance at the WC and their RP. However, this being a small tournament and the fact that I personally weigh rp way more than rank I initially decided on doing rank as 1/2*KPB+RP bonus. However, for one reason or another, I didn't like how the numbers worked out. Thus I resorted to .75KPB for the reason that it still gives nations better in KPB rankings an advantage but making up the gap wouldn't be too unattainable for unranked nations.

And while unranked nations still did relatively poorly. The system worked as intended in my mind as by the end Novikov and I had passed Andrewboy (who had 7 or so ranking points to start with) as a result of our rping.

Either way, that's how I did it, and that's how Novikov intends to do it if he's the host (he scoranated my matches in the previous cup). Anyways like I said, It's ultimately up to the hosts and if you think differently please put in a host bid.

Experience
We have hosted an 8 team competition called the Senior cup first with NSFS 2.07. I then hosted the Toiletdonian international with 12 teams in it also with that version of NSFS.

Scoreination
For this cup I plan on not using ranks to make this competition special compared with the rest.
I will use NSFS 3 to scoreinate.
Cut-off will be at 19:30 UCT unless stated otherwise.
RP bonus will be on a three tier system: 1.5 for a bad RP. 3 for an okay RP and 6 for a really good one.
The style modifier will range from -5 to 5.
If you post after the cut-off you RP will still count for the next game so we don't have people crying because they missed the cut-off.

Format

If we get 12 sign-ups I will split it into two groups of 6 in which the top four go through from in to quarters. Then semi's ect.

You may not drink drive but we have a great monorail system.
Alcohol is cheap and easy to get.
We drive on the left hand side of the road.
