So today I was offered an application for the Green Berets. However, I was previously planning to switch to the Marine Corps.

Even if I take the application, there is a fucking incredible drop-out rate, so I probably couldn't get in. But maybe I should still try.

What's NSG's opinion? Green Berets or Marine Corps? Both highly badass.

Green Beret. You can always be a jarhead. Take the opportunity, work hard, and maybe try and get into Delta Force, eventually special assignments. Get a job with the CIA and bam, your a case agent. Have a college degree, know a bunch about international relations?

Navy is the safest branch. But since intended to switch to the USMC as either a sniper, a machine gunner or a rifleman, I ain't looking for saftey. Nor would I say that the Green Berets provide much in the line of instant gratification, their training being up to two years. I intend to stay in twenty years anyway, so I could retire as either.

Not interested in the CIA, really. Nor do I have a college degree. I have the opportunity to become an officer, but it's becoming less and less appealing to me.

If your not interested in safety, want action, travel to places, than I would still recommend that you consider. Special Forces give you the opportunity to do some wet work. CIA only increases that chance, and the company always needs good candidates for case officers, analysts, etc. Or start at DIA and go from there.

Uh, yeah. Relatively. And while every marine's primary MOS is rifleman, his secondary is generally something like communications, whereas I'd enter as all combat.
