[SUBMITTED, but in case of denial] Commend The Outback

Postby Fredick Fazingland » Fri Jan 24, 2025 9:13 am

As one of the first Sinker regions to be founded since before time, The Outback had quite a lot to live up to, being in the shadow of its older sibling, The Rejected Realms. However, it has certainly lived up to expectations.

Amazed that they’ve recently established a treaty with the notorious Lone Wolves United, ensuring security from one of the most feared groups of raiders.

Applauding that they’ve established a lively community of those who have been ejected from their home regions and have chosen to stay.

Appreciating that they’ve established embassies with multiple respected regions, such as The Region That Has No Big Banks, almost all of the Pacific regions, Lazarus, and many others.

Respecting the fact that they have many community events, such as Jam Band Fridays, and a Regional Storytelling Week.

Very, very poor attempt.

The Outback hasn’t been around long enough to have earned a Commendation.

What blasphemy is this?! You want to Commend the Outback?! How utterly preposterous! Do you not know what they have done? We as a cossack community refuse such a proposal to even mention a possibility of commending Outback!
Forever Against.

(OOC: Stupid Ranting aside the proposal is not drafted on the forums, terribly written and Outback is too new of a community to even warrant a thought of commending.)

It is customary to ask a nominee if they would like to be commended or condemned. It's clear you have not done this.

It is also customary to draft a proposal prior to submission. You have also not done this.

This is also genuinely just not a well-written proposal, so even if the first two issues did not apply, and even if the Outback had been around long enough and done enough things to be feasibly commendable (which it hasn't and has not), I think most people here would still be strongly against this.

They take it seriously because if passed it has the potential of adding something permanently to the game, which takes work and effort from our volunteers, not to mention the hundreds of well written proposals before you. They aren't taking this too seriously, your taking it too lightly. If you don't want to be professional, other forums are always open.

Huh, so far you’ve got off lightly. I could do a clause by clause demolition of your effort, but why bother? It’s never going to get to quorum.

arent sc resolutions supposed to start with "the security council, yadayada" this isnt a good opening line. take TRR's commendation for example, it has much more words n stuff and it shows good stuff about trr (in that case the rra).
Amazed that they’ve recently established a treaty with the notorious Lone Wolves United, ensuring security from one of the most feared groups of raiders.

how is that commendable? isnt "no badges for raiders" a take the SC has?
Applauding that they’ve established a lively community of those who have been ejected from their home regions and have chosen to stay.

its been around for like a month. the community is a infant
Appreciating that they’ve established embassies with multiple respected regions, such as The Region That Has No Big Banks, almost all of the Pacific regions, Lazarus, and many others.

again, how is that commendable? how is having embassies with others commendable?
Respecting the fact that they have many community events, such as Jam Band Fridays, and a Regional Storytelling Week.

this is a not well written line but it has potential i guess. if you could maybe add more to it, it may be better

Honestly a rushed attempt at getting a resolution

Fredick Fazingland wrote:Amazed that they’ve recently established a treaty with the notorious Lone Wolves United, ensuring security from one of the most feared groups of raiders.

What... how is this commendable? Are you writing a condemnation or commendation?

Fredick Fazingland wrote:Applauding that they’ve established a lively community of those who have been ejected from their home regions and have chosen to stay.

Stay where? Also, this is just too short.

Fredick Fazingland wrote:Appreciating that they’ve established embassies with multiple respected regions, such as The Region That Has No Big Banks, almost all of the Pacific regions, Lazarus, and many others.

Just maintaining embassies with a bunch of large regions isn't really commendable or noteworthy. What makes these embassies so commendable?

Fredick Fazingland wrote:Respecting the fact that they have many community events, such as Jam Band Fridays, and a Regional Storytelling Week.

Be more specific about the regional events

Fredick Fazingland wrote:Hereby COMMENDS The Outback.

That's it? You need a lot more content for a commendation.

...Yes?

A condemnation isn't actually a punishment. It's a reward. It’s something people typically want to get.

A condemnation is essentially a commendation for people who play the villain. Take a look at the condemnation I've been working on on and off for a year and a half: It’s someone who's done positive things in their community, but who roleplays as an brutal, genocidal empire.

If someone's done something truly bad, we don't give them the recognition of a condemnation. And since a condemnation is a reward—yes, we ask people if they want one first.

This ain’t Field Of Dreams. You have to campaign for approvals just to get to quorum and then campaign again if you manage to get it to vote.

Of course that’s not going to happen because, as you’ve said, you don’t give a shit.
