Bilancorn Q&A, part 2.

Postby Bilancorn » Sun Jan 19, 2025 11:13 am

Well, I've made a new one since the last one after 3 pages of services died out. I'd like to use this one to clear doubts about Bilancorn, as well as to answer IC and OOC questions.

The name came from a fantasy game of the early 2000s. As for the city, its the most advanced and technological city of Bilancorn, with futuristic architecture (pick my banner as an example) and about 3 million residents. There are also buildings in brutalist, neoclassic and baroque style, as well as a jewish quarter, 2 muslim quarters and a sort of chinatown. (obv, not all muslim/jews/chinese actually reside in such quarters)

Kinda a draw between Sheeps and Cows, given our climate and biomes. Chickens are on the rise, tho.

After the Bilancornian civil war (1952-1959) and more notably after the war against the soviets (1970-1972), democracy was fully restored. The Republican Party, which was one of the major parties back then, gradually lost votes in favour of the newly founded LFP, which were among with the DLP one of the 2 New parties. After 1972, all legislatures had been led either by the LFP + the UPP or by the DLP + the UPP. In recent years, given the hyperprogressivism of the majority of the DLP members, the centrist UPP is more likely to ally with the LFP, explaining the last ≈12 years of governance.

Unsurprisingly, Corn. Wheat, Cotton, Fruit are runners up, and tobacco is also significant.

I think this question was already asked, but still... Afghanistan. While its similar to North Korea (in terms of oppression), its also known for the number of terrorist attacks. Also, as a non-religious people, I will just be killed on the spot if I was a resident.

Who would have your nation, as a person, have voted for in the previous 8 American elections (2024, 2020, 2016, 2012, 2008, 2004, 2000, and 1996)?

Well, lets assume that the individual "Bilancorn" was actually a US citizen (since voting as a foreign might change a bit the prospective of the vote):

1996: Probably Blank, Dole leaning.
2000: Bush
2004: Blank
2008: Obama
2012: Obama
2016: Blank
2020: Biden
2024: Blank, or Harris as a "no-Trump vote"

Given our history, its basically an odd mix of Spanish, Italian, French and German cuisine. Arab influence is on the rise in the last ≈40 years.

Honestly? I dont know. Some cathegories are not recognized by the state (furry community, third-gender persons, therians...) but there are no laws that actually forbid them from declaring themselves furries or therians or non-binary. Some could argue religious people, but thats wrong since our constitution protect religion's freedom and even peaceful propaganda. Communists and fascists are indeed disliked, but its not really a "cathegory".

Fascist yes, period.
Communist... depends. Our Constitution protect private property rights, so... If you want to abolish private property / start a revolution, its indeed illegal. If you are talking about the far-left, pro-woke libertarianism, yes its legal but mostly frowed upon. Could argue that at least a part of the D.L.P. is kinda woke, tho.

Thats without doubts the factbook i've delayed the most, tbh. In my mind is more a philosophy rather than an actual religion, I took confucianism and some form of buddhism as an example, and put them in a more utilitarian prospective.
I hope to release a detailed factbook within this year, without further delays...

Militarized? Yes. Militarist? No. We have our reasons to keep a strong military (and police force), but we dont attack others for sport, we must be attacked first.
