My nation no longer seems to add stats to the system.

For at least the last couple of weeks, whenever I answer issue, is shows that things are changing, but they are actually not.
If I go back the next day, the stats that were supposedly changed are still showing the old value.

Seeing as I am first in the world for Black Market, I want to see that number keep going up.



That images shows that I should be over 100,000,000,000,000,000, but I am still stuck below that number.


Scientific Advancement says I should be at 828.10, but still as 829.40


Civil Rights says I should be at 1.50, but still at 1.33


That is also a weird issue, in that everything I do that should have nothing to do with Civil Rights, always shows up with that same bump.

Did I manage to go over a limit with my Black Market, and that is causing the issue?

Short answer: yes. You've exceeded the biggest number we allow the database to track. It's the same problem as this and this, but just Black Market this time.

I can't give you an ETA on when I'll be able to fix this, unfortunately, but rest assured the issues you answer are still taking effect - your underlying backstage stats are recorded on your nation file, which has no limits. It's just the database where we store actual census ranks is temporarily capped, and someone (probably me) needs to go and change the precision we track with it.

Separately, you seem to have managed to have completely busted the black market stat - your black market is 176% of your economy, despite what the trend graph says. Wack. That won't be fixed until or unless we rewrite the entire economy.

Ahhh, interesting stuff! ♥ I'm glad I have not extracted a new batch of stats data yet. Would be definitely interesting to see your nation on the charts once this is fixed (no rush, of course; I am also not in a rush to extract data!)

This is completely normal for nations with high corruption - any nation whose black market is more than 50% of their economy per the chart (such as this nation, for example) will have a black market stat higher than economic output

Yes, I think it's a sig figures issue. Back in the olden days, there were 100+ nations tied at the top because of the cap, so the devs removed one sig figure of precision in order to allow the black market stat to be 10X as high as what it was previously capped at. I suspect this is what will happen again here.

Note quite. The pie chart includes both the formal (government and industry) and informal (black market) economies, but it seems that GDP (Economic Output) implicitly excludes the black market.

GDP: ~56,597 trillion
Black market: ~99,987 trillion
Total output (GDP + black market): ~156,584 trillion
Black market / Total output = ~63.86% (consistent with the graph, rounding down)

Excluding the black market from GDP is realistic, to be fair, but I have a sneaking suspicion that this is calculated in a silly way that vastly exaggerates the 'total output' of high-black-market economies.
