How can somebody report somebody for "span" if the bumped???

A place to spoil daily issues for those who haven't had them yet, snigger at typos, and discuss ideas for new ones.

Does it make sense to report Spam on a thread that YOU bumped???

Postby NorthernPesos » Wed Dec 11, 2024 3:16 pm

I just got told about an issue of a post being reported as "spam" but this seems kind of strange.......

if the person who reported said "spam" actually bumped their own discussion?????

On other forums if you can get away with bumping your discussion........

then I would tend to assume that you are a closet moderator or Admin........

and so any sort of reasonable comment to your thread.... that YOU bumped......

would not be considered asking for trouble... it would be considered trying to liven up the discussion???????

Wrong thread. This would technically be in Moderation but while I am here I will also tell you to stop gravedigging. That can land you in serious trouble.

How far back is considered to be "grave digging" by definition?

Don't quote me but I believe 7 days without a post on the thread. I might be wrong however.

Wow!!!!!

I have never encountered standards that high since I got into discussions forums somewhat like this back in 2003?!

No wonder this forum is so active...... high standards do often get good results.

Gravedigging: Posting a reply on a long unused thread. Adding legitimate new material is permitted, but the acceptable age varies from forum to forum. Check the stickies in each forum to determine the standard for what constitutes gravedigging.

Wow... I would never have thought that seven days would mean "long unused?"

I truly don't understand what you're trying to accomplish with this thread.

A) It's in the wrong forum

B) It seems to be asking a moderation question, but...

C) You posted it as a poll

Looking at the stuff you're doing all over, you really need to slow your roll, and do things like read the rules (which you seem to have found - good on that), check the FAQs for the forums to learn how to use them, and respect the thread culture in places like RP threads and whatnot. Don't post random nonsense ramblings in peoples store threads, don't post stream-of-conscience commentary on unrelated topics, avoid gravedigs, etc.

I'm locking this thread. Please read the rules and take your time to understand the site before posting random things all over.
