Ahhh, Roblox. The game where it Powers Imagination. Over the years, preadors has been making it their home for the innocent. Greedy game owners profiting off of 7 year olds out of their mother's credit card and the front Page littered with trash and slop that only targets children. As a player from late 2016 after the removal of tix, I remember the platform was fun... Now it's 2024, and drama is the new currency. From Meepcity, a fun roleplay game now runned with predators in every house in the party feature. Gooner's flooded is the new avatar outfits, the marketplace flooded with counter-fit limiteds and inaproprate accessories.

Ever since the game Pressure and it's devs and moderators where harassed by people because they couldn't follow a simple rule has lead the creator, Zerum (if I am correct), have a mental breakdown and posted on Twitter that he was selling the game for 300k before it was deleted after a couple hours. He is fine, however is taking a short break due to the fandoms harrasment campaign against the developer team.

Roblox Infulencers and Delevopers alike were exposed for digusting acts of grooming and pedofilia, and it never stops. It's hard to find any game that is actually good, they're buried under the slop that Roblox says since they make more money for them. Their motto, "Powering Imagination" has morphed into nothing but a misty blur on the forest floor. Of course, it's lies was only singled out by the Heisenburgh Company. Exposing it's false claims, investments, ect. has finally made Roblox to act, but when the fandom yelled and cried for saving, Roblox danced around the ballroom as their profits rain down slowly.

So, I want to know your opinion of Roblox...

roboblox is roboblox. this isn't unique to roboblox but a lot of other things i imagine, but it's the first time it's happened to a 'game company' that's publicly traded on the stock market. it should do better i think.

Yeah, grooming and CSA aren't things exclusive to Roblox as either a platform or a game. You'll have unscrupulous people doing unethical things in practically every sizable group of people, though that obviously doesn't mean nothing should be done about it. Quite the opposite, for reasons we all already know. Children definitely should not be left unsupervised on the Internet as that's one of the main factors that makes them vulnerable to predators.

As for the topic of Roblox in general, yeah, it's definitely went down the tubes since they started phasing out Tix and making everything microtransactional. It's a corporation that doesn't even value imagination anymore, much like how Google has long ago ditched their well-known "Don't be evil" motto. Frankly, it's just yet another example that you can't trust any privately-owned entity as far as you could throw it. It's not just the company either, though, there's people like Preston who pump out what's essentially 'gambling for kids', with all the Pet Simulator games and what-have-you. A lot of recent games made on Roblox have little to no "imagination" put into them, they're simply slapped together and smothered with gamepasses to try and milk Robux/money from players.

On that note, there are some games I enjoyed on Roblox. Kaiju Paradise used to be one of them, but then they started removing things and devs started getting involved in the usual drama. It's a whole 'nother can of worms I don't feel like opening, honestly.

Oh hey! It's the company that would take eons to do basically anything good for their community, like removing shitty folks from their star creator program. Their moderation was (and probably still is) so incompetent a YouTuber they fucking sued came back and and did the moderators' jobs for them (even exposing someone in their own company for being one of those)

I love Roblox, it's a simple and fun time killer. I love making all sorts of furry avatars to pass the time. People respect me being a Leafeon girl, probably because I don't objectify her using skimpy clothing and big boobie UGCs apparently on the market.

In my opinion, I think Roblox was the original 'metaverse' despite what the crytpo bros would like to think. You could buy any article of clothing from a general store and then bring it with you from game to game. I think that concept is super cool, but with Roblox being the only realized application it's kinda disappointing. If you've ever read Ready Player One, the real world equivalent is Roblox.

To that end, the shite that is their content is a separate story. It's maximized for profit, because devs realize that kids with access to parents credit cards are very common. Thats kinda what happens when you get shareholders involved, especially when they influence content.
