what are some simple regions good for beginners?

so I have received many telegraphs of you should join this region, or this one or blah blah blah, and I was wondering what are some genuinely good regions to join for a beginner that isn't just some sponsored crap. thanks

Everything you find or receive is going to be "sponsored crap" as you put it, but this thread might be a good place to start:

Just post there about what you're interested in. There's a wide diversity of possible regions for any interest that you have.

Probably The Order of Corinith. It's the region my main account resides in. It's great for newcomers. Not too active where people wont notice you and not too inactive where the last post was 4 years ago. We have an RP if you so choose to join, and even if it's not for you Republic of Nova Tero is way more active with RP and New Alotania is about to convert to a frontier. Plus we are just finishing the first Corivision™ so maybe you can join next time ^^
