The streets of Grandeville were alive with anticipation as the city prepared for the inauguration of the newly elected Grand Consortian. The ceremony began at dawn in the Pillared Forum, a vast marble amphitheater in the heart of the capital, where the Grand Consortian-elect delivered their oath of office under the gaze of towering alabaster statues of TGEC’s founders.
Citizens from every corner of the nation gathered in the forum or watched from large projection screens across the city. The Consortian Guard, resplendent in their ceremonial blue and gold uniforms, flanked the central avenue, their polished boots glinting in the soft morning light. As the Grand Consortian finished their oath, a low cheer swelled into a thunderous roar, echoing across the city.
From the forum, a grand procession wound its way to the Plaza of Unity, where the new leader addressed the public, outlining their vision for TGEC’s future. This speech, steeped in themes of resilience, progress, and unity, was punctuated by the pealing of the Bell of Sovereignty, a 300-year-old symbol of the nation's independence.
By late afternoon, the ceremonial motorcade reached the Crystal Palace, the residence of the Grand Consortian, an architectural marvel of glass and steel perched atop the Haven Promontory, overlooking the shimmering Channel. Dignitaries and leaders from across the globe had already gathered, their banners flying alongside TGEC’s proud tricolor.
The arrival of the Grand Consortian was heralded by a 21-gun salute and the regal strains of the Consortian anthem played by the Grandeville Philharmonic Orchestra. As the newly inaugurated leader stepped out of their car and onto the palace’s radiant glass staircase, the assembled crowd of global leaders applauded, signaling the start of the gala—a celebration of unity, diplomacy, and the promise of a new era.
At the entrance of the palace, the Honor Guard Battalion stood proudly, protecting the residence and ready to salute any foreign dignitaries. Invitations had been sent out to the leaders of multiple nations to take part in the private gala at the Crystal Palace. A path fron Grandeville International Airport to the residence had been cleared, with motorcades being prepared and full precautions being taken to ensure the security of the guests. Helicopters were up in the sky, patrolling, and around the Palace snipers were posted on top of buildings. The stage was set for a beautiful ceremony
