Please make sure to check your opponent's RP Perms BEFORE writing your RP.

The 1st Tapity Invitational
Edsmon Hosting Information

Welcome to Edsmontik!
We hope you enjoy your stay through the First Tapity Invitational Cup.
Here are some things to get you set for the Edsmon experience!

Basic Information

Image
The 12 largest cities in Edsmontik

The Karmic Republic of Edsmontik is located in the very Northeastern tip of Karma, bordering the East Karman Ocean.
It is home to approximately 197 million people, which mostly live in the densely populated cities of Touve, Woodhill, Yaneu, and more.
The Edsmon population is diverse, full of people from every corner of Karma and other regions around the multiverse.
People commonly come to the nation to witness the ice-cold winters in Skejiver and Northeviige-Tretovikenhanz, the beautiful beaches of the coastal cities, and the massive sports events that range from stock car racing to football/soccer and handball.

Being so far north, the summers are mild temperatures, barely going past 60 degrees Fahrenheit in the warmest areas.
Winters can be freezing, especially up in Skejiver and N.T., with temperatures dropping as low as -7 degrees Fahrenheit.
Sports have had a long history in the nation, beginning as far back as 1881 when the Independent State of Vdes was founded.
In the early 1900s, the nation evolved into the Vdes Union, and then to modern day Edsmontik.
Sports boomed during this time, with people looking for ways to entertain themselves.

History of Sports in Edsmontik

For many years, the Edsmons stayed silent from the NSSports Committee. They constantly kept to their own leagues and cups.
One famous cup is the Kontœnetæliße Cup, or K-Cup, which began in 2002 alongside the FDVl, Edsmontik's national league.
This cup still goes on, with the other three nations (besides Edsmontik), Stivira, Wedich, and Taya-Frieland competing.

It all started in 2027-2028, where they enrolled into the 28th Handball World Cup.
In mid-late 2028, they played in the 9th Elephant Chess Cup and the 51st Hockey World Cup, where they did surprisingly well.
Then, their big day came in 2029, when they joined the World Cup and Baptism of Fire.
The BoF84 came first, and they dominated, winning the entire thing and bringing a fresh trophy home.
In their first ever WC run, they qualified and broke into the group stage but unfortunately lost there.

Today, the Edsmons get to mark a milestone where 12 nations of Tapity players come to play in the Edsmon courts around the nation.
A milestone indeed, a first time hosting.

Stadiums

Image
Stadium locations on the Edsmon map

The stadiums of Edsmontik to be used for Tapity are mainly conversions of Handball stadiums, because simply it'd be a little too expensive to add more to the already crowded nation.
So let's begin! Starting with the smallest...

Davreikcove
Sentraak, South Trosi
9,460 Maximum Capacity

Image
Being a fairly large looking stadium, it doesn't actually fit many people.
Engineers designed it for "double" use (two way playing), which proved to be a pretty stupid idea.
Lines marking each end of the court are luckily marked, so players don't have to worry about mix ups.

Signersyaan
Yverstard, Aavak
9,600 Maximum Capacity

Image
Signersyaan is a pretty old handball stadium, being built back in 1956.
It was renovated in the early 2000s after a fire almost burned it to nothing.
Being in the middle of a semi-quiet Aavakian city, a lot of civilians disliked it, but it was "quality content" so they didn't vote on getting rid of it.

Saaber Stadt
Strakkelmen, Straver
10,900 Maximum Capacity

Image
Saaber Stadt was built by the Saaber brothers, two very renowned Edsmon engineers.
The stadium was built in 2012 as a "sports expansion" project for Straver.
And now, Strakkelmen has its second handball stadium alongside a soccer/football stadium and a racetrack.
People are still unsure why this is only the 19th largest Edsmon city.

Burnsdacht Stadt
Riosenen, Skejiver
11,000 Maximum Capacity

Image
Please picture this with a glass dome on top
Up in the very cold north is the Burnsdacht Stadt, built in 2004.
The glass dome traps in heat, and with modern heating systems, the stadium is very warm compared to outside temperatures.
In its 26-year history, not one person has suffered any bad cold-related disease that (except the common cold) after playing here.

Duonset Trovaar
Freidenrich, Veconne
11,250 Maximum Capacity

Image
This stadium in Freidenrich is on a slightly higher area of the city compared to all of the other buildings.
With this, many reviews from people say that the view is amazing.
The court itself is pretty old though, being built in the late 1980s.

Touve Haansbolrenae
Touve, Austrankank
13,800 Maximum Capacity

Image
The largest court in the heart of Edsmontik.
Touve is historically one of the most important cities, and the Haansbolrenae is what shaped Edsmon handball in the first place.
Being build in the early 1910s, people will say its old, but after looking, it's more modern than some believed.
As any other Edsmon stadium in a massive city, it blends right into the noise.

The Royal Independent State of the Panay Islands and Guimaras, also called Panay Islands and Guimaras, or Panay-Guimaras is a nation in Asia. Located in the Philippine archipelago, Panay Islands and Guimaras has been a touristic hotbed because of its beaches and nature conserving tourist attractions which the government funded. The Panay Islands and Guimaras dominion is consisted of 5 autonomous provinces and 1 federal canton.

Panayense tapity was started in 1920 by two Natkrians named Joseph Swanson and a black man named Cleveland Brown. They bring the sport to some children in Mandurriao, and the kids loved it even the adults too. The two Natkrians starting to introduce tapity to the whole Panayense soil. The first national competition is in Mandurriao, home of the Panayense tapity. Where 6 provinces compete each other for the glory of their province. Now called the Allianz Tapity National Championship, also called nowadays as Allianz LigaToque, the province of Iloílo won many times behind Federal Canton and Aklan. Tapity wasn't as too much popular but it's still popular in high schools and universities. The Panayense Spanish name for tapity is "toque", which means touch. Since there's no word for tap in Spanish.

It's a tradition for the Panayense athletes to sing their victory anthem (inspired by Australia's club song) after a win since the 1956 Olympics.

Team History

So Tapity pretty much is not recognized as a sport nor played as a sport in our country, the team consists out of players who all comes from Handball originally and are talented but were not good enough for the handball NT hence why they are here.
Team hopes to find out if this sport is actually worth playing and there are not really high expectations, the coaching staff exists of former handball internationals who are helping this new generation make something of their lives, there is a relaxed atmosphere in the team and anything good is already a win here for this team.

Ones to Watch

This is an exceptional player, the entire reason Edsmontik is so confident in this new sport.
So young, yet so powerful on the court.
From a family of Handball players, he was always destined to continue their legacy.
Ander Pfundbasst
Starting out as captain of his school's handball team, he played for multiple Under-12, Under-15, and Under-18 Handball teams.
After learning about the existence of Tapity, he signed up for an academy and is now where he is.
Ander plays very aggressively, making powerful taps and strong passes that leave his opponents fumbling.
How he uses this in Tapity, we will just have to find out.

INFO:As you know, tapity is a Natkrian sport. Created by George Leos in 1902, the sport spread through Natkr and started to form leagues and different championships. Natkr is the top nation in Tapity but is excited to face some nations to officially claim the title. -Reem Sports

Player to Watch:
Adrian Gomez

After coming off of Nordhammer Crew's title-winning campaign, Gomez is determined to win the TIC and bring the cup for Natkr. A starboy from Azure Cove Hawks's academy, the Hawks sold him to the Crew after performing at the U-16 Natkr Tapity Championship. Now he's the champion of Natkr and hopes to win the cup too. His father Luke Gomez trained him to become the world's best player. He has won the Liga Tapity Player of the Season, the Finals MVP, and the Golden Hand (top scorer). His iconic celebration is the jaguar after Nordhammer Crew fans started calling him the name.

Fun Fact: The team is traveling to the tournament listening to YMCA - Village People. Young man, there's no need to feel down. I said, young man, pick yourself off the ground. 8)

Team Captain Phineas O'Banion was asked how he felt leading Routcher into the international scene of a brand new sport:

"Honestly, it's a great honor to do this for my country but also for the wonderful sport of Tapity. I hope that we can see some incredible success here and that will make Tapity more widespread throughout the Empire. Maybe we can have an Imperial tournament just like we do with football."

When asked about the matchup vs Edsmontik on December 3rd:

"This is a formidable opponent. Obviously they come from a country with a great love for Handball and Tapity, which is why they are hosting this event. Whoever wins, I'm confident it will be the better team. I can't control the schedule or the grouping or anything like that, but if I did I'd still want to face Edsmontik first, because that will set the tone for the rest of the event. Do we win big? Good, we can keep the momentum going. Do we barely pull it off? Then we can continue to dig down and perfect what we do well. Do we barely lose? That's a learning experience. Do we get blown out? I'd hope not, but I know that would wake up these guys and push them to try harder. Don't put us in a corner!"

When asked about the group as a whole:

"What can I say? Routcher must have a reputation for excellence to be grouped with these guys. We don't expect any easy wins in this group."

YUUGRIA WARRIORS TAPITY TEAM

Image

Yuugrian Tapity was introduced in the 1960s during the Second Vaishnavarian-Yugri war. The Yuugrians had captured a town and had learned about the sport of Tapity. The soldiers brought it back home after the evil Vaishists managed to survive another day and it exploded in popularity in the 1990s. They have multiple clubs and have played head to head against Vaishnavaria many times which was called the Vanav Trophy named after famous Yuugrian tapity center Nassu Vanav who led Yuugria to their first victories against Vaishnavaria. Today tapity is still only moderately played but access to facilities and clubs are plentiful and the Divine Lord Innu has picked these players to represent the holy Nation.

A GREAT START FOR THE TAPITY KINGS
Strakkelmen, Edsmontik

"Cada día te quiero más
¡Soy Panayense, es un sentimiento
No puedo parar!"
—Panayense tapity fans in Edsmontik during the match

The whole Panayense fans are flooding the whole Saaber Stadt with the blue and white colors against The 14 Stars. As the match commenced, the Panayenses scored an early goal thanks to Álvaro Lozada's tap-diving goal unto the Starsian net. And then a back-to-back goals from both sides with some of them by Jung, scoring 15 goals and Lozada, scoring 10 goals. The Starsians were up to 13 goals, trying to take away a Panayense victory, but Super Efraín took out the Starsian defense with his speed and his taps, just like he's flying like Superman. That performance gave Efraín Jung the MVP award he deserves. The people went crazy for this win. "We did our best to stay on top.", says Protacio. "With this win, we could do better in our next game against Routcher, but we will devise another plan to take them out." "We are so proud of our Braves!", says a Panayense die hard tapity fan. "We are going to show why we are kings of tapity!" The Braves will go head-to-head against Routcher in the 2nd matchday. Would the Braves will be brave enough to destroy the whole group?

THE BORSCHSTLATVIA BEET, sports section

TAPITY ROOTS LOOKING GOOD

On their maiden game, the Borschtslatvian Tapity Roots have won their first match against Yuugria, with a score of 26-25. This is quite possibly the FIRST time Borschtslatvia has WON a maiden game in any sport this year. Rudy Baga, the "Bo Jackson of Borschtslatvia," is on a bit of a tight schedule, as he has been flying from the Tapity games to the college football games with the Kormania University Krashing Boars.

"It's nothing a few pots of coffee can't handle," Baga said, practically bouncing off the walls.

Baga will be replaced with Mitzi Carter for the next few games.

OOC: cramping this on a road trip so mind the autocorrect and the bad editing

The Natkr tapity national team has again proven the dominance that Natkr can show in this tournament by a 30-25 comeback win against Imporia. In the first halves of the game, Imporia were absolutely pressing Natkr with nonstop goals coming from Lebrun, Jacobs, and Feemster. But it soon all changed after coach Kyes Weah substituted on James Thornton after Zach Bundy’s stinky performance. There was a change to the game when he came on. James started scoring and assisting Adrian Gomez so Natkr came back from 13-20 to 30-25. The team started to change up the attacking playstyle and focus on containing their taps. James started to become the main playmaker in coming back. After Tompkins tapped the ball up to Thornton, he passed it up for Gomez to score. Talk about teamwork! The Natkrian tigers worked hard enough to force Imporia to run out of energy, and that would prove to be a game changer in winning the game. James Thornton received his own song by the players and the 45,000 Natkrian fans who traveled to Edsmontik. James Thornton not just only won MOTM, but the hearts of the Natkrian people.

James Thornton song by Eric Tompkins, Adrian Gomez, Theo Hudson, and the Natkrian pitch-side supporters (tune of Bella Ciao):

His name is James
And he’s from Natkr
He came to score
Came to score
Came to score
Score, score, score
James Thornton
He’s down from Ruska
And he plays for the Crew
His name is James
And he’s from Natkr
And he plays for the crew

Head Coach Alexander Harcourt was interviewed following the 29-26 victory over host Edsmontik.

"Listen, this is a good group of guys who really came together to pull off the win. But its a testament to the other team that it was not an easy match. It was a close one, and it could have easily gone the other way. We got to keep practicing and enforcing what we do well while also taking a look at some of our weaknesses and seeing about mitigating them."

When asked about the match ahead with Panay Islands and Guimaras:

"They also won their first match versus The 14 Stars, and their win was quite a bit more dominant than our own win. Obviously anything can happen on game day, but that goes to show you just how important it will be to take our lessons from this past match and bring an even better execution to this new opponent. Nothing will come easy in this tournament, but we wouldn't have it any other way."

When asked about who his most important players are:

"Everyone who wears our uniform is important to our team, even if they stay on the sidelines the entire time. Everyone has a part to play, and that part is no less important just because your number wasn't called. But if you want to talk about the player that keeps the team on a high level, and that makes my job a little easier, then I'm obliged to talk about Phineas. You know he's the captain for a reason. He keeps the guys motivated and will work with the younger guys on things to get them playing at a higher level faster. Everybody is talented. You don't to be on the national team, even as a backup, without being the best of the best in the Empire. But To have that immense talent and be a true leader, that's even more rare, and we are blessed to have that in Phineas O'Banion."

DOWN WE GO
LIVE ON ISN NOW

Here we are, Edsmontik's first hosting.
On MD1, against Routcher, we'll see how this goes.

Tapity Invitational Cup 1
Matchday 1
EDSMONTIK v. ROUTCHER
Burnsdacht Stadt, Riosenen, Skejiver

Pre-Game
"Listen, I know I'm young, but trust me here."
"You're 16, Ander. let the pros handle this."
"I was appointed captain for a reason."
"Whatever. Just play well okay?"
"I will, stop doubting me. Stop forgetting I'm captain."
The Vdesmons had some arguments on the way up to Burnsdacht Stadt.
It was cold- very cold.
Arguments frustrated the team each minute.

First Half
POV: 3rd Person

Starting off, the Edsmon Storm moved quickly to crowd the center.
Veuertz made a pass to Pfundbasst, who charged the wing and cut into the center with a pass to Emerkiltz.
On the left wing, Emerkiltz charged up around Clarkson, who almost tripped trying to stop the 18 year old.
In the center, the Routcher defense was strong, forcing Emerkiltz to pass back to Veuertz.
And with a few quick taps, he avoided Garing and Hermann and landed a powerful throw.

"Save masterfully by Feldman!"
"Isn't that nice, what a save there, look at the reaction!"

The Edsmons had a good start, with one attempt so far.
But with their opponents, Routcher, now in possession, things could turn.
In a 5 minute span, the game was in a deadlock, Routcher opened up with Williams, followed closely by O'Banion for a 2-0 lead.
The Edsmons shot back though, as with Veuertz and Pfundbasst's powerful shots, the score hopped to a 3-2 for Edsmontik.

Moving around, Routcher's players quickly found weak Edsmon spots such as the wing.
Pfundbasst and F. Staunt were able to defend their sides, but on the left, Emerkiltz and Iltzenbennen struggled to keep Routcher's attackers at bay.
In less than 5 minutes, the game changed to a tight 5-3 for Routcher.

Following their mistake, the Edsmon players on the left wing gathered stronger positions.
And just after, it seemed to work, with Routcher's attacks on the wing being almost pointless.
So the Edsmons decided to switch it around.
After a quick nod to each other, the players are fired forward in a rush to score.
Interceptions occurred across the court, and the Edsmons were noticing Routcher's players take defensive positions.

POV: A. Pfundbasst

Things were going well.
Within the first 20 minutes of the game, he had scored 5 goals.
Ander looked at the scoreboard, seeing the number change as Rignaun Emerkiltz set his second goal in.
The score was now 8-4, with the Edsmon Storm leading.

"Good." Pfundbasst said to himself.
He turned back to the center, waiting for the game to restart.
And off it was.
Ander jogged up and received the ball from Veuertz, who continued forward.
In front of him now was Poplin, who he simply dodged.

Everything was seemingly simple this game, Edsmons were masters at handball, but couldn't use that squad because of their low-familiarity with Tapity.
"Veyer, Saz-Maartin, and others would be so useful right now." Ander thought as he tapped the ball around Garing.
With a swipe of his hand, he tossed the ball to Staunt, who came from right behind him.
Pfundbasst watched as Staunt skillfully drifted past Hermann and fired a shot into the corner past Feldman.

"Thanks for the pass."
"You're welcome."

POV: 3rd Person

The Edsmons were going as quickly as possible, finding as many chances as they could.
But as usual, it all came falling apart once the Routcherians found their ground.

"Goal!"
"Goal!"
"Goal!"
"Goal!"
"Goal! They are actually making a comeback here!"

In the finals 10 minutes of the game, Routcher not only equalized, but they surpassed the Vdes.
15-13, in favor of Routcher was how that ended.

2nd Half
POV: S. Tzunder

Sabmar watched with a keen eye as the Routcherians approached again.
The Edsmon defense was floppy, as if after the first half they had lost all momentum they once had.
Everything happening was close to the center, but more to the Edsmon side of the court.

Over and over, he watched as his team messed up here and there.
Over and over, he saw the defensive line almost hand a chance to the Routcherians.
Routcher was undoubtedly a good team.
But if they lost this game, they would never get a chance to show how good they were.

If the Edsmons were even surviving this group was unknown.
They had only barely introduced Tapity in December of 2029, now it was mid-March.
Almost no one had familiarity with the sport, so watching everyone fail, he realized it was just inexperience.

POV: 3rd Person

Every pass had to do something.
Every shot had to count.
The front three were doing weel, having set the score higher, but Routcher wouldn't stop with the retaliation.
Minute after minute, everything was getting tenser.

The fans would cheer, then go silent.
That applied to both sides.

One team would gain a lead, then in a short amount of time it'd be a tie again.
Based on the pattern, the Edsmons realized they wouldn't be winning.

"It's almost like every five minutes" Ander said, running.
"Exactly," replied Veuertz, who passed the ball off to Emerkiltz. "Once we score a few, they'll come back, then us, then them, and the game ends there. They'll be leading!"

In their current situation, the score was a tight 21-22 in favor of Routcher.
Emerkiltz had done a lot of work on the, left, clearly not wanting to be substituted.
But either way, in the 49th minute, he, Iltzenbennen, and F. Staunt were all taken off for Saz-Bernouq, D. Staunt, and Rikkenst.

Nothing much really happened afterwards, with weirdly no yellow or red cards seemingly to be handed out.
The fresh players did all they could, but the inexperience got to them, leading to multiple Routcherian goals.

And after the last 10 minutes passed, the Edsmons couldn't be any more dissapointed.
29-26, the storm had faded.

THE BRAVES WERE TOO CLOSE FOR A WIN
Yverstard, Edsmontik

At Sygnersyaan, the whole Panayense community in Edsmontik have shown their pride by displaying any tifos and banners. The Tapity Braves got their rhythm well in the first half of the game. With some goals by Jung, Lozada, and Hechanova. Bu the Routcherians bounced back with some of their goals. Add it with the last goal of the game by a Routcherian to shut the Panayenses up, but they didn't care less and sing it anyway. The match ended with a 1 point loss to Routcher. Protacio, aware that his team could lose by a point, said that they're having a hard time to beat them. "It's hard to beat them up.", says Magbanua. "But we will come back stronger against Edsmontik at their home court." "It was kinda disappointing.", says Hechanova. "But we will promise that we come back for a win." The Braves will face Edsmontik at Touve Haansbolrenae in the Edsmon capital. Will they go out for a win and get into the next round?

ANDER PFUNDBASST - TIC1 GROUP ANAYLSIS
LIVE ON ISN NOW

Looking back at MD2, the Edsmons had finally gained some footing in the Tapity department.
Three points puts them tied with the Panayense and ready to gain a potential chance at the Ro8.

The Vdes players were strong during the game with The 14 Stars, scoring many goals to start and doing good in the back.
Pfundbasst, Veuertz, and Tzunder were all very good when it came to performance.

On the right wing, not only did Pfundbasst assist the majority of the other's goals, but he also went in and scored his own.
Pfundbasst made as many quick moves as he could, and captained the team well, earning him a good MotM.

As the pivot, Veuertz had a lot of ability, and he showed it.
He was quick on his feet and able to send powerful throws.

In the back, covering the net is Sabmar Tzunder, who saw Sabmar Lankiv on the Edsmon Soccer/Football team as his idol.
He made many crazy saves, preventing the Edsmon defense from getting the beating of the fans.

All of this led to a strong 32-28 win over The 14 Stars, who now have little chance to make it into the Ro8.
Now, let's move on. With us today on ISN is Ander Pfundbasst himself, to discuss the chances each team will have for entering the Ro8.

Tapity Invitational Cup 1
Post Matchday 2
EDSMONTIK v. THE 14 STARS
Davreikcove, Sentraak, South Trosi
ISN Booth 3

Please welcome Daunder Fundzaard and Ander Pfundbasst to discuss MD2 and chances for teams in the Ro8.
*Translated from Vdesun in IC*

Daunder: Welcome. How are you this evening?

Ander: I'm great! A little bit tired but otherwise fine.

Daunder: So here today we will first discuss how your game went. Any opinions?

Ander: I personally think that is Vdesmons did well, but the defense needs work.

Daunder: Any reason why you think this?

Ander: Well, everyone in the back was missing passes and not securing the wing. This let Starsians go onto the outside and circle in, preventing the defense from being effective at all.

Daunder: I agree too, lots of mistakes in the back. I noticed a lot during the game that der-Suiove was very ineffective and especially when he is under stress.

Ander: Exactly, I think that some of us, and myself included, need to learn more and get better at dealing with stuff under stress.

Daunder: Let's move on now, what about an analysis of the group? I heard that your team has been watching other games to see how others play.

Ander: Yeah, we have for sure. Where should I start?

Daunder: If you want, you can begin with your group or Group A.

Ander: I'll start with Group A.

Daunder: Okay, tell me what you think then.

Ander: Based on how the teams are now, I believe everyone in Group A possesses a chance.

Daunder: You're right, the fight for first is still underway, the fight for second and third are also still unfinished. Island Fusion and Aust Scor definitely have a chance, but here, who do you think will pass?

Ander: I think it is a little obvious that Grand Exultia will make it, knowing how they've been playing really well. Vaishnavaria may make it too, knowing how they only have to face Island Fusion, who has been having some poor performances.

Daunder: You have a point. How about Group B now?

Ander: I personally think that we Edsmons will make it, but without bias, we may or may not finish third based on how the Panayense do. We've beaten them many times in soccer/football, but can we really say the same for tapity? Who knows.

Daunder: I completely agree, the Panayense-Edsmon rivalry is strong, and that pretty much does make this game uncertain.

Ander: Okay, based on this, I think that the only nation here not advancing will be The 14 Stars.

Daunder: That is a most likely outcome. Anyway, Group C now.

Ander: This group is probably disputed. Natkr honestly has been playing super well, so I would think they're going through, however with Borschslatvia and Yuugria, both teams have been playing pretty well and with a tie on points, we can guess that both will go through if Group A ends with third place having 1 point.

Daunder: Yep! This Tapity Cup is really exciting, anyways, thanks for coming tonight Ander! We wish you and your team good luck.

Ander: Thanks!
