mfw when i’m in a joke repeating contest and my opponent is a raider

I'm a tad bit scared to say anything in here, but I was wondering: is there a point in these sorts of situations where the defenders or raiders win and the conflict ends? From what I've seen so far (at least in this situation, I'm new and haven't seen any others), it looks like defenders and raiders can trade blows by liberating, switching, and using injunctions over and over again. Is there something either side can do to prevent that? I don't mean to express any of this in an accusatory/insulting way, tbh I really have no side on raider vs. defender as of now, I'm just curious about how raids get resolved.
