There is nothing preventing you from making a region designed for people from a given real-life country, and indeed, there are a fair number of regions that are exactly that.
It sounds like what you're proposing is a system that assigns people a region based on their real-life country, which I feel safe saying isn't going to happen. We're a satirical site about made-up nations and made-up regions. We try to encourage people to form communities based on their own preferences - not our imposed assumptions.

2) Not everybody wants to associate with people from their own country ‒ in fact, it could put them and their families in danger. This is particularly the case for LGBT individuals in places where being gay is a crime, or those in totalitarian states who speak out against their governments. The Web is a small world, and while we can take democracy and rule-of-law for granted, not everybody else can. If you're running from Putin and his punks, getting "outed" can mean falling from a window or dying from poison in your tea. A location indicator could be all they need to tip them off.
3) Or perhaps, you're just fed up with hearing about local politics and issues in your own country, and NS is your go-to escape from that so you want nothing to do with the real world.
4) People sometimes use proxies and VPNs, which creates the same problem as 1).
