I know most of you here think mainstream media:bad, but unless they're now in the business of doctoring videos or making deepfakes, then let the evidence they provide speak for itself, irrespective of what you think of their commentary.

So former Australian Prime Minister and current US ambassador, Doctor Kevin Rudd, is facing backlash for publically insulting Donald Trump. Amongst other things, Rudd called Trump a "villiage idiot", friend of dictators" and other things, and yes, yes these things are correct. Doctor Rudd is 100% correct, but you're the fucking ambassador. The ambassador to one of our most important allies isn't supposed to say that stuff about it's president. That's not very diplomatic of you Kevin. And this happened after the Jan 6 insertion of 2021, well after Trump had already served his first term as president. Current Australian Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese, Australia's villiage idiot, is refusing calls to expel Rudd from the position, which, as far as I am concerned is an other nail in the coffin of his popularity and the sooner the next Australian federal election, the better. Although, Albanese himself has also been critical of Trump. Even Donald's daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, wants Rudd gone. Remember when the whole world went ballistic about how unprofessional and undiplomatic it was for Trump to call poor countries "shit holes". Same difference. Now, I am not defending Trump here, I don't call him "the drink bleach guy" as a title of honour, but I'm not the ambassador to the country he rules, who is one of our biggest allies. Also, I have heard Rudd speak, and think that he is otherwise an excellent diplomat, but when you start publically insulting the erratic nut case who punishes people that piss him off, maybe it's time to stop being the ambassador to the country said but case leads. Especially considering that said country is one of our most important allies. Anyways, what do you think NSG?

You've misunderstood my first point, though I can see my phrasing was unclear. I wasn't referring to your specific links, only to your false statement that "I know most of you here think mainstream media:bad"; this simply isn't true.

On the second and third points, the comments from Lammy and Rudd were made years before they took up their current posts, so of course that timing matters. If Lammy or Rudd had made those comments while they were in post, then that might be cause for concern - see the Kim Darroch case from 2019 (though in Darroch's case he was forced to resign over the content of leaked e-mails that he believed would be confidential, so not quite the same thing). But that's not what's happened here; neither Lammy nor Rudd any any reason to believe that they would become UK Foreign Secretary or Australian Ambassador to the US when they made their remarks, and those remarks were already a matter of public record when they were appointed to their current posts.
