The thing that annoys me particularly the most about the Republican movement is the entirely misguided anti-expert, anti-intellectualism. I am not talking about hating gender theory academics, thats irrelevant, most people think thats a joke anyway. I am talking the distrust/hatred of Doctors, engineers, medical researchers, and scientists. Being distrustful of big corporations is valid, but not because they are trying to microchip your blood for the jews or whatever. They just want your money at the expense of everything else.

As someone studying medicine, sacrificing 6 years of my life to understand this shit, it pisses me off to no end when some idiot who "did their own research" lectures me on vaccines. I did my own research too, its called becoming a doctor.

Sounds like you're just a lazy fuck. "I should not be required to participate" buddy, you can literally opt out of participating by casting an invalid ballot. This American definition of freedom being complete lack of any responsibility or submission to any authority at all, is an entirely modern concept. You accept a far more demanding civic duties of Jury Duty, where you are compelled to sit on a case that may last months. This does not even compare to the level of compulsion exerted there, is far more important to society, and is not even something you have to participate in.

Furthermore, if you truly do not want to cast a ballot, it is literally only 20 dollars fine, once every 4 years (13 USD). Just pay the fine if youre that lazy. The level of "compulsion" is the tiniest slap on the wrist. Its just meant to encourage turnout.

I shouldn't have to show up, one drawback of note: being forced to vote, you can have a democracy if you don't ask everyone what they think since democracy doesn't include everyone.

This is another effort by the Democrats to subvert family values and our traditional patriarchy. There is also a lot of talk about women voting primarily Democratic. In some families, the wives vote the way that their husbands want them to. Should me institutionalize this?
