About Us
Founded in 1964, Azmeny’s National Petroleum Corporation has helped access the mineral wealth of the People’s Republic of Azmeny for 60 years. Founded on the orders of the Ministry of Energy, ANPC delivers affordable energy to 80 million Azmen, serving the people of Azmeny and the demands of socialism. With oilfields spanning the provinces of Noristan, Altairny and Shir, Azmen National Petroleum Corporation can deliver a wide range of high quality hydrocarbon products at a globally competitive price, to deliver power around the world.
Our 70,000 workers working under the highest standards of safety and unexploited by capitalism provide the highest quality of oil and gas Azmeny has to offer, and draw on six decades of experience providing energy. With energy demand set to grow throughout the coming decades, Azmen National Petroleum Corporation can power the needs of tomorrow, as well as today with our experience and legacy of consistent innovation, as energy markets adapt to the challenges of serving 11 billion people by 2050.
Our History
Azmeny’s oil industry is one of the nations oldest industries, with oil being discovered by English explorers in 1921, leading to the formation of the Anglo-Azmen oil company in 1923, a joint venture between Shell and the Sultanate of Azmenistan.A picture depicting one of the earliest oil wells in Altairny province
Initially, this venture was largely controlled by the British, however in 1934 this was nationalised, as the Royal Azmen Oil Company (RAZCOM), which built large amounts of oil infrastructure, including the first oil refinery in Azmeny in 1935, and Azmeny’s first oil pipeline, which connected the oilfields in Altairny province to the city of Karyau, on the Caspian Sea coastline. Azmeny’s oil helped power the first electricity grids in Azmeny, and paved the way for its earliest industrial growth. However, the oil industry also paved a brutal legacy of exploitation of workers, poor health and safety, and the eviction of local Azmen people to pave the way for oil exploration.
The civil war of 1952-1963 led to a temporary cessation of oil production in Azmeny, and led to the destruction of large parts of Azmeny’s oilfields. Over 70% of oil wells in Azmeny were damaged by intense fighting, and foreign personnel fled the country, causing a large loss of institutional knowledge and expertise.
Following the end of the war, the newly established People’s Republic of Azmeny sought to reestablish oil production, as Azmeny sought to build an industrialised state-run economy. Under the presidency of Petr Azmanev, the Ministry of Energy founded the Azmen National Petroleum Corporation, which sought to give the newly socialist state energy self sufficiency, and export to socialist allies.
Business initially was slow, due to a lack of demand for oil in Azmeny, a nation where few owned a car and only the large cities had electricity grids. However, the Great Advance program on industrialisation during the 1970s saw a huge surge in power consumption by Azmeny, and ANPC formed the backbone for the newly industrialised nation, as Azmeny’s economy grew, and the workers of Azmeny experienced greater prosperity than ever before. Azmeny’s oil and gas reserves underpinned the creation of a prosperous and equal society, and the elimination of poverty in Azmeny’s nine provinces.
Today, Azmeny’s state-run energy industry continues to serve the needs of the Azmen people, with oil production increasing under the administration of President Yuri Korolev, which has invested over $50 billion over the last 10 years in modernising Azmeny’s oil refineries and pipelines, as well as scaling up production. Today, ANPC forms a major source of revenue for Azmeny’s government, pushing forward the Azmen economy and bringing wealth to the workers of Azmeny.
