The small African nation of Cote D'Argent has always been in a precarious situation. The nation, since its independence, has been ruled by corrupt strongmen who care more about their pockets than their people. The nation's vast amount of silver from where it got its name has been exploited and sold by foreign powers, poisoning the drinking water and deforesting the once large rainforest that blanketed the nation. These governments, even still after every coup and sham election the nation has seen, have always been ruled by the Catholic Nzutu people, who make up 68% of the nation's population. However, in the north of the country, the traditionally Sunni Zhotu people have resisted fiercely, establishing a quasi-state to the north.
This all changed suddenly on the 29th of October, 2024. Government forces, supported by various mercenaries and paramilitaries, launched a sudden invasion of the territory. The attack was an immense success, as the Zhotu were underequipped and internationally isolated. Ever since the "reclamation of their traditional lands", President William Ndongwe has launched "anti-terrorism operations" in the north of the country. However, these operations have revealed to be Cotargentian soldiers entering Zhotu homes and massacring civilians. Drone footage has captured disturbing scenes of burnt villages, piles of bodies and ruined mosques. With the resistance utterly crushed, only foreign intervention can prevent the atrocities.

TERRAIN:
Despite the severe deforestation, there are still large amounts of rainforests and wetlands. The country is otherwise mostly flat.
