Our region had 56 billion dead and 23 billion alive but zero zombie

Worse than in previous years but I manage to have a 21% of survivors. I was one of the few nations in my region that was having an improve of healed people in late morning.

Is it me or Zs were harder to defeat this year?

1. I set up my puppet region Lennart at midnight (I'm in the UK), just as the event started, and worked on the cure right away. If I didn't have to work the next day, I could have put a lot more puppets in and be a bit higher on the tally boards, but it's okay.

2. Once my puppet region had the cure I got bored and started experimenting with attacking other puppet regions with open borders:
- Launched a lame zombie attack on Ainulindale that barely caused any damage.
- Ainulindale's founder then TGed me and called me:
· a subhuman piece of garbage
· an obnoxious piece of dog excrement
· a garbage person
· subhuman trash X2
· a dick
· a cretin

... It reminded me of my ex, all right. They password-protected the region and lost their place at the "No Quarantine" list, but I got nothing off it :/

3. Lastly I thought I could at least take a region off the "No Zombies" list, by timing a better attack on Concord, and got lucky as most of them were puppets and American accounts that were inactive shortly before the end of the event. Did enough damage, they lost their place and Lennart climbed up a position.

I started with killing them, but then I had a change of heart and decided to cure, guess where that led me? Being overrun with them when I was sleeping. So I went to exterminate when humans popped up again, and guess what? Everyone. Every. Single. Thing died. Complete grey.

I woke up to find my nation almost completely infected, so I moved to my own personal region for safety. After ages of trying send failing to get 100% cure research, I opted to just kill the zombies instead and eventually purged my region completely.

Was fun, but there wasn't much to do in the second half of the event tbh

Z-day started two hours later this year excluding most of Europe from being at the start unless you stayed up until midnight then if you set a cure the next morning the cure didn't operate before the game was over, it's been OK other years why make unnecessary changes

Yeah I feel as if 36 hours is a bit too much.
If you're in a small, non-chaotic region then theres not much to do after killing every last zombie. My stats stayed the same for two thirds of the event except for a slow trickle of deaths.

TSP never can come up with an effective response because there are so many inactive nations. So, I just exterminated the Zeds, and ended up with 77% of my population surviving, which was in the top 1%.

Otherwise, I couldn't do much, since the game was in the middle of the work week.

My survival rate was like 2.3% like 12 hours before the event ended, so I think all my people died before the end of it.

Final Survival Rate: 0.79%
So I survived, barely.
This also marks the 2nd event I’ve survived (the 1st being NDay11)
