New York state officials have seized an Instagram-famous squirrel named Peanut from his owner
After Anonymous complaints about Peanut — also spelled P’Nut or PNUT — brought at least six officers from the state Department of Environmental Conservation to the owner's home.
This makes me so angry. How sad and pathetic is your life that you have to break someone’s heart and ruin their plans for a not for profit. It’s likely the squirrel will be euthanized. Shame on whoever did this and the New York State officials responsible. My tax dollars went to this as opposed to focusing on things that matter.

Sounds like someone who doesn't have the training to properly care for wild animals was trying to exploit them for his own profit.

Read the article then get back to me.
Longo said he was in the process of filing paperwork to get Peanut certified as an educational animal.
“If we’re not following the rules, guide us in the right direction to follow the rules, you know?” Longo said. “Let us know what we need to do to have Peanut in the house and not have to worry about him getting taken.”

I have one thought: Literally why? Just why would they do this? What did that squirrel do to deserve this?

Read it yourself. The article says that he has had this squirrel for seven years. So he's been exploiting animals for a long fucking time to only now be in the process of filing paperwork. No, this man clearly is not safe to entrust with wild animals. Or probably any animals at all.

Nothing. A miserable individual decided to break someones heart and we have a state government that focuses on things like this inside of going after actual cases of abuse and focusing on real problems.

Couldnt… they like idk vaccinate the animal if they suspected rabies or other diseases?
I mean, a squirrel cant kill someone, like the alligator in the article could. And Why did 6 officers even waste time on that? Was two not enough?
