The yearly average currently employed by the military, either permanently employed or serving the mandatory military service, is around 0,46% of the population. Mandatory service lasts 24 months, so anywhere between half to two thirds of currently active personnel are trainees going through their mandatory service. Career military folk are generally employed in highly technical, logistical, or administrative roles, and this cohort is reasonably small, between 0,12% to 0,21% of the population. Higher percentages have not been necessary for the PM in the last three decades, and there is considerable overlap for such personnel in strictly military and civilian sectors, e.g. a good naval logistician can easily work in shipping when their expertise are not currently required by the armed forces.

The PM is capable of mobilising between 4% to 4,5% of the total population in a total war scenario without adversely affecting the home front. [The Onigiri Enclave]

The Onigiri Enclave staffs a grand total of 666 soldiers, of which only 47 are active combatants. Our forces are divided up as followed:

• Vanguard Mechanics: 144 - These are the soldiers that make up the military motorpool, and are also considered the nation's reserve fighting forces and national guard.
• Medics: 152 - This is the medical corps of the Onigiri military, treating all the flesh and blood wounds of our troops and of civilians affected by combat.
• Research Officers: 200 - This is the research division of the Onigiri military, developing new tech and armaments for the military, which over time leads to new progress for all of Onigiri kind.
• Cyberneticists: 68 - A wing of the Onigiri military specialized in cybernetics and cybernetics research, and also the maintenance and repair of robotic soldiers, making them in a sense the equivalent to the medics for robot and heavily cyberized officers for treating injuries.
• Astronauts: 55 - The Onigiri Space Agency is treated as part of the military, and these soldiers do all the scientific work of typical astronauts, such as space walks, experiments, living on the space station we have orbiting Earth, as well as cooperative missions to the ISS, our moon outpost, and satellite maintenance, which includes communications satellites, spy satellites, and our famous kinetic pile bunker satellites that act as our first line of defense.
• The 47 Ronin: 47 - Given that "47" is in he title, it makes sense there would be 47 people in the group. This is the aforementioned active combat division, which is composed of three sub-groups.
  
  • O4-A Moving Castle Crew: 27 - This portion makes up the bulk of the 47 Ronin, this being three teams of 9 that operate the three giant conical almost onigiri shaped battle fortress tanks known as the O4-A Moving Castles, whose roles are to support the Support Infantry Division if they are deployed.
  • Support Infantry Division: 13 - The true core fighting force of The Onigiri Enclave, the force typically sent out if kinetic bombardment was not sufficient to annihilate any target that previously attacked us. Their function is overwhelming destruction and bringing absolute despair to an enemy fighting force and their leaders to force peace and break the enemy's will to fight and desire to ever declare war again on anyone by showing them the true atrocities of war.
  • The Seven Samurai: 7 - Again, the number is in the name. This is the group of ultimate last resort, as their firepower even far outstrips that of the Support Infantry Division, and that is saying something, seeing as the SID has a sniper that fires multi-megaton semi-automatic rounds, a grenadier with twin grenade launcher miniguns that fire 34 grenades a second each whose grenades' explosive yields are 3.36 kilotons, a melee fighter that can move around the battlefield at over Mach 2, and their leader has a sword that is a literal miniature sun that burns at fifteen million degrees Celsius. The Seven Samurai are a group of people who are paired with a set of mecha, each one sentient and each one handpicked their pilot as the one most synchronized with their psyches. All of the machines were derived from a pair of machines that crashed on Earth back in the 19th century and are still the two most powerful units we have, of which these two are capable of easily destroying planets. The Seven Samurai, as stated, are only called out in situations where the SID appears unable to handle the problem or have been overwhelmed/wiped out/need reinforcements, in which case we usually deem the threat to the Earth and safety to life and peace too great to let it continue to exist, so mercy goes out the window, and if the Seven Samurai are called forth, typically the only recourse for the enemy that harmed us is omnicide, wiping them out down to the last scrap of DNA, to ensure they could not harm another soul.
