If Gambling is Illegal, how it is punished? Illegal (street) Gambling is punished with a fine, and imprisonment if done in fraudolent ways.

The few people who do gambling legally are usually just friends that do it for fun or for small amounts. Those that do it illegally usually do it in illegal gambling dens, laundromats, etc. It’s not a very lucrative business and it only happens in larger cities.

This ranges from being fully legal and gambling being a major backbone of the economy for places like New Brooksfield, Corra, and Eagleton, to being fully illegal in Southland City and the Ürümmu Autonomous Region, to in-between for the Gran Tuvalma Archipelago (street gambling and betting on sports and political elections there is outlawed, but there are a total of five casinos in the entire province that were chartered out by the local government).

Betting between individuals is not a crime, but gambling establishments (such as casinos) are banned for promoting materialism and capitalist decadence. Running an illegal casino is a serious crime, and can even be punishable by death if anybody is harmed as a result of it (as an example, if a parent develops a gambling addiction and can't care for their family anymore).

 People convicted of partaking in gambling are punished with 18 months in prison. Those who are found to be operating casinos and facilitating street gambling are punished with 10 years in prison. Online gambling is practically impossible as all gambling websites and apps are banned or unavailable in Crossoveria.

If Gambling is Legal, is it Popular?
Very. Gambling is one of the largest sources of tax revenue and is the largest non-religious, non-medical service industry in TurtleShroom. Almost every TurtleShroom hamlet with more than a few dozen people has at least one casino, bingo parlor, or other gambling location.


If Gambling is Legal, whats the minimum age to Gamble? There is no limit to how young a creature has to be to gamble, nor is parental supervision required.

If Gambling is Illegal, how it is punished?
  • The Tsars of TurtleShroom and any member of an elected or appointed government office cannot gamble, unless the government employee or official is that of a private fief. The punishment is expulsion from office.
  • An athlete on a professional or lay sports team or event cannot gamble on himself or any opponent. Likewise, no competitor in any event, tournament, or challenger can bet on himself or his opponent winning or losing. The punishment is immediate disqualification.
  • Across the entire coountry, no public or private institution is allowed to host gambling or any gambling-related event on a Sunday, nor can public street gambling be performed outdoors. Gambling within the home is always allowed. All gambling institutions are required by law to close on Sundays, on high holy days (e.g. Christmas), and on Holy Week. A gambler caught gambling on these days is fined three times what he gambled. An institution offering gambling on a Sunday or other forbidden day is shut down for three months, with repeat offenses increasing the penalty.
  • Casinoes must close at noon on Wednesdays in the District of the Capitol, Dixiegrad, Oil Ocean, all Free Cities, and most private fiefs. The penalty is five hundred Skillets per two hours open after noon, with no more than six levies being allowed in a week (representing twelve hours).
  • Casino profits are taxed at forty percent by the imperial government.
  • While not a law, gambling on a church campus or in church is considered immoral and punishable by church discipline.
  • In every Parish except Axebundle and Kingfish, an institution that offers gambling cannot issue loans or lines of credit.
  • Cash only unless in the Parish of Kingfish. Institutions that offer gambling services cannot have ATM's, unless in Kingfish. Likewise, manual bank tellers and wire transfers cannot be performed, unless in Kingfish.
  • Cockfighting and all other blood sports are illegal in the Parish of Haizsylvania.
  • The Ecumenical Prince-Bishopric and all other theocratic sub-realms forbid any gambling at all. Residents of theocratic realms must cross state lines.



Some laws that were initially required but repealed include that only Native TurtleShroomites* could operate casinoes, that casinoes needed special licenses, that gaming machines could not be manufactured (only imported), and that a casino cannot open before 7:00 AM and must close at 8:00 PM. All of these provisions have been repealed or struck down.

* = Xenophobic, anti-human TurtleShroomers that remain pagan and Mongolian in culture. If Gambling is Legal, is it Popular? It's moderately popular.

If Gambling is Legal, whats the minimum age to Gamble? 10 for small amouts of money, 18+ for bigger amounts.

If Gambling is Illegal, how it is punished?
 Government officals and sports stars ect can't bet on things they can affect or they get thrown out of office.
Casinos ect that are violent to people and beat them up can be shut down if it is proved.
