Whats Happening on Mundus

Hi and welcome to the 1st edition of the round up of Roleplay happenings in our region. Its the intention that each week we'll bring you the big news of what our members have been writing about and introduce you to some of the lore of the region.

What is MUNDUS? -
Mundus is our fictional world. Its a modern technology roleplay setting with a vast range of nations, some shiny and new while others have been here the full decade since the region was set up. We've nations of all types ranging from liberal paradises to slightly psychotic dictators. Our members have created a rich tapestry of culture, some based on real life ideas while others have created something truly of their own minds.

WEEKLY ROUND UP OF STUFF

The biggest news this week is the coup attempt in Nya Åland. Following elections for their Head Gothi (President) the results were inconclusive and errors in the nations constitution has left the nation in a kind of political limbo. The religious extremist group known as the Gungnir have used this confusion to seize control of the country. The Seaforthian controlled city of Troyes sits on the coast of Marseille. It has long been a city at a centre of arguments between the people of Marseille and the Kingdom of Seaforth. Under the command of the resurrected para-military group, Real Marseille, and with support from the Empire of Aosta the cities military base has been blockaded meaning Seaforthian troops are now cut off. To aid this Aosta have claimed they will help protect the cities ports. The plan currently seems to be that Real Marseille will hold a referendum in the city to determine whether it shall remain independent or join Marseille. https://independentorder.net/index.php? ... 7#msg29157

The reality TV show in Neu Urburzis aiming to find a wife for Emperor Orion is still ongoing. Contestants undergo a series of tests and the public vote on the outcome. Life in the city of Troyes is still heating up. The city is in dispute between the Kingdom of Seaforth and the Republic of Marseille. Currently militants have the Seaforth military base under siege but as of yet no violence has taken place. We've seen nations mainly split into two, every uneven factions. Members of the ASDN have called Marseille the owner meanwhile only Ui Cenneslaig have given Seaforth any support. Currently two members of the ASDN, Rokkenjima and Achkaerin, who are also friends with Seaforth have travelled to visit the King of Seaforth to discuss the matter.

The nations of Tanith, Lodja, Eborcium and Aosta are having a get together to sort out some co-operation between their nations. Currently the agenda is focusing on the use of high speed railway that could connect their homeland.

With several leading officials appearing to be involved in plots about the throne its been largely left to Achkaerin investigations to sort this out.

The new King of Renaku is looking for some special gifts for the leaders of the various hill tribes that make up the interior of the nation. He has inviting East Moreland's Royal Blacksmith, Maxwell Power, to visit and potentially forge the swords. With blades having a cultural significance in East Moreland's religion it remains to be seen exactly what, if anything, can be made and whether this helps the two nations become closer.

The missing Lodjain royal portraits seem to have somehow found their way to Neu Urburzis. A series of clandestine meetings between the two nations intelligence agencies are trying to get them back but have discovered that perhaps there is more to this than just simple art theft. Currently the Neu Urburzis royals have even been helping join the investigation that has now seen a potential smuggling ring appear.

Naozumi Iga (Hachinobu Seisei) won Stage 7 of the prestigious Kinai Grand Tour of Cycling. The win puts them 1minute 33secs ahead of the opposition on General Classification.
