Welcome to Hafamarimët!
I am very thankful for Beepee in hosting the 73rd World Hit Festival on behalf of Tödlichebujoku. I had a blast in Hercules, and our delegations enjoyed how special and intimate things were. I also want to congratulate BONC for winning in home soil once more, providing them the opportunity to host the next contest.

However, they decided to cede their bid in favor of Hafamarimët, a country that has been a consistent participant in this Festival, for the chance to host. And surely enough, TVH has accepted the challenge of organizing the 74th World Hit Festival with a blast from the past, in the city of Baspink! Let’s bring all the delegations we can here and have fun!

I must remind all the delegations that the 75th World Hit Festival is right around the corner, and the winner will have the opportunity, as tradition states, to host the special orchestral edition! It’s time to start making plans, showing off your creativity, and looking forward to a throwback towards a special night! [i]¡Hasta luego!

What is the World Hit Festival?
The World Hit Festival (WHF) is a multiversal song competition. Each nation shall enter 1 song and 1 artist, and it shall be 'performed' via roleplay. Most nations tend to use a real-life tune as a musical backing, but every entry submitted to the World Hit Festival is required to have original lyrics (ie. if you submit a tune, you must re-write the lyrics), so this does mean that instrumental entries are blocked from entering the contest.

WHF operates with three threads, the OOC, Draft, and IC threads. The one you are seeing now is the OOC/Sign-ups thread, the main place for you to discuss the contest, reveal your entrant, etc. All OOC chatter goes here. The Draft Thread, opened by the host, is the second thread opened during a WHF contest, and this draft thread is where nations will post and work on their entries until a deadline determined by the host. The IC thread, also opened by the host is the third and final thread attached to a WHF, and it is where the host will transfer your entries. To see how the whole thing works, feel free to explore the previous competition in Beepee, linked above, which will also allow you to get a feel for the contest and what is required.

Rules and Regulations...

ENTRIES

1. For an entry to be accepted, must have one of either at least some staging directions orsuitable background role play. This is defined with a tune, lyrics, and at least 300 words of role-play spread throughout the text. The right to reject an entry according to this criterium is reserved by the Host and the Overseer. More generally, feel free to consult the Acceptable Entry Standards for the World Hit Festival
2. All written lyrics must be original. Should any user spot any concerns, don't hesitate to let the overseer or current host know.
3. For Semi-Finals to be initiated, there must be enough at least 26 or 27 nations competing. The number of participants before Semi Finals are initiated will be dependent on circumstances.
4. The maximum amount of nations that can participate without more than one automatic qualifier (ie the host) is 17 nations per Semi-Final. Once this number has been broken, the top 6 (including the host) will automatically qualify to reduce 18 nations to 15 in each Semi.

CONTEST

1. A nation is allowed to submit 2 puppets maximum to the contest, meaning that a user can be controlled at most 3 nations in the contest.
2. Users must send a full ranking of all nations on the IC Thread to the host of the competition when the voting opens. If users usually split their rankings across multiple participating nations (master and at least one puppet), they are free to provide only one ranking - provided it directly aligns with how many points given out across the user's participating nations. Otherwise, the user must send a ranking per participating nation they own. Rankings should not be displayed by any given user until after the Festival has been completed.
3. The nation ranked first will receive 5 points, the nation ranked second will receive 4 points etc. Nations ranked 6th or below will not receive any points.
4. When participating with multiple nations, users can only give themselves 5 points maximum across both nations, and a maximum of 3 to one (that is to say, a maximum of 3 to one and 2 to the other). Votes will not be accepted if users give themselves, across both of their nations, more than 5 points, or more than 3 points to one.
5. In the event of a tie, the countback system goes as follows: Amount of nations - 5 - 4 - 3 - 2 - 1 - 6th places, 7th places etc.

HOSTING

1. The winner of the competition will automatically be given the right to host the competition. The winner will be contacted by the Overseer to ask if they want to take up the role.
2. The host can reveal they will host the World Hit Festival after talks with the Overseer on when to do this.
3. If the host either doesn't announce their interest in hosting the proceeding contest or declines hosting rights, usual procedure is that the nation who came 2nd will be asked and so on until it reaches the Overseer. The Overseer can give hosting responsibilities to a user placed below them if they are willing to host, and the Overseer also reserves the ability to choose an alternative host.
4. If the host abandons their host duties, the World Hit Overseer will be responsible for what left needs to be done.
5. We would like to ensure all World Hit Festival hosts can host the competition to the best of their ability. If you have any concerns about hosting if given the opportunity to, don't hesitate to speak to the World Hit Overseer.

WELCOME TO HAFAMARIMËT





After Ïnuh Pmïlgïnt earned Hafamarimët’s best result in the 73rd World Hit Festival, coming second only one point behind the winner, there were massive celebrations all across the country. More celebrations were to come when it was announced that the winners, Beepee, declined to host WHF74, which meant that Hafamarimët would have the honor of hosting.


WELCOME TO BASPINK





Baspink is Hafamarimët’s 5th largest city with a population of 2.5 million, but combined with the neighboring cities of Bundič to the east and Mïvnahma to the west, the region is home to over 9 million people, the second largest urban area in Hafamarimët. Located at the confluence of two rivers, the area has been inhabited for nearly 2000 years, meaning the city provides natural beauty as well as many historical sites.


WELCOME TO THE ARENA BÖDMAJU BASPINK





The Arena Bödmaju Baspink is the home of the 2022-23 Hafamari Men's Hockey League champions, Baspink Bahjëči. Slightly rearranged for WHF74, the arena has a capacity of 14,500. The arena opened in 2010 and has served multiple uses since then, including hosting the grand final of Čänlëdïl WorldVisionvun 111.


WELCOME TO THE STAGE





Set in the middle of what normally would be the ice rink, the stage is made up of three parts. The main stage (orange) is outlined with lights and pyrotechnics, and the floor is able to be illuminated in solid colors chosen by each delegation if they wish. The outer circle (yellow) and inner circle (green) are able to be independently raised and lowered, as well as rotate, and the sides of each circle are curved LED screens that may be used to display patterns or images as each delegation would like. The entrances/exits (black) join together behind the stage to lead to the green room, still in view of the audience.

Bïdnel Halnetka

Bïdnel has been the Hafamari spokesperson at WorldVision since WorldVision 86 in Antahbrantahstan as well as the previous edition of WHF. He also hosts a late night music and chat show on TVH called Past Your Bedtime.


Samëči

Samëči Lubamëd is a singer who has had the opportunity to represent Hafamarimët three times in WorldVision. This will be her World Hit Fest debut and she can't wait!


WELCOME TO WHF74



Visuals for the contest are retro-themed, with a heavy 70s vibe present throughout not just the graphics but also the decor of the arena. Postcards will keep the same basic design on a black background, with text colors representing each nation's flag.



The scoreboard is inspired by the one used by Baspink Bahjëči, which was taken from the old Arena Baspink when it was demolished to make room for the current arena. Built in 1974, it retains a vintage look and feel.

After receiving 119 submissions, Radiotelevisione gallicelèstiana internally selected "Ariadne" by Ginevra Dali feat. Mihaela Stefanescu to represent the Technocratic Republic of Gallicelèstia at the 74° edition of the World Hit Festival.

Previously, Ginevra Dali participated in the 221° edition of the Festival della Canzone Gallicelèstiana. Receiving 396 points with her song "Echo", she finished as the runner-up in the competition. Alongside Ginevra Dali, "Ariadne" features Orasian singer Mihaela Stefanescu who fled to the Technocratic Republic of Gallicelèstia after the People's Union of Ruchkya launched a war of aggression against the Kingdom of Orasia.

22 year old Zara Avril set to represent Britonisea at the 74th World Hit Festival!

Zara Avril will represent the returning nation of Britonisea at the upcoming festival to see whether she can win the country's tenth World Hit Festival title. The song, "Eyes on the prize" is an anthemic pop-rock track which hints at a dysfunctional one-sided relationship. Zara and her team are excited to be a part of the World Hit Festival journey and the team are positive about what the nation could gain in Baspink - the host city of the 74th World Hit Festival. Similarly to Britonisea's return after its hiatus at the 68th edition, the nation will be pulling out all the stops to return to tip-top form, and the team believe that Zara and "Eyes on the prize" will shoot up the scoreboard.
