YN's soldier thoughts about fighting AN.

[Sky Reavers]

There was a popular thread, where a soldier (or an officer, commnader, or maybe recruit, or perhaps a desk jockey in supply dept) from your nation reacts to fighting against the nation above you. Was that a piece of cake? Or maybe, it's a hell on earth? Whatever it was, describe the reaction of YN's soldier here. The longer it is, the better!

Example: "Turns out, that there ain't no Nonexistville Army at all! We recieved some report about their incursion on our territory, and for some reason, we all knew, that it wasn't a joke. But the radars didn't show any aircraft or ships! Business in the towns nearby was as ususal and no one even heared or seen even one of their soldeirs. We scouted the area and didn't find a single Nonexistville soldeir either! Enigma Circle investigated the place for spies as far as I know, but... there were no enemy agents either! Apparently, we have been invaded by the army, that doesn't exist! At least in our world! But... yet, it somehow exists too. Quantum weird stuff, I tell ya' this!"-Battlemaster.

"Their tech is fucking crazy, I'd say were it not for the thaumaturges in our ranks, we'd have been overwhelmed completely by now.

But all that's aside the point, why are we fighting these anarcho-drunks, of all people? Don't we have better things to do?!"

"Just press on and strike their air forces as much as we can! These dudes are casualty averse, which makes it easier for us to prevent them from even deployin'! We just gotta focus on the air, using Reaver-51s and anti-air to fight off their air attacks full of missiles and such! They are strong in the skies, but we ain't no fools there either, cuz we are Sky Reavers! They don't like godfightin', which is why we do everything to force them into this mode of fightin'. On the ground, we just use shock, awe and relentless lightning speed assaults to make em' hesitate! Both of our navies are similar... both rely on the air. Either way, we won't budge and yield even a bit to them, so they better craft up some peace reparations and avoid that confrontation with us, they have started."-Man-at-arms.

"Brave and many they may be, but we are just techier, and got better stuff! So, we are winnin' this for good! Their marksmen are worthy foes, but how much can they do agaisnt an equally tough dude with a laser rifle? Or even a plasma rifle? We also got some nice robots to use as shock troops, while our warriors are flankin' and chopin' them! Still... Even if this is not the hardest battle, they fight bravely! Their cavalry, even at desperate fights, still find a way and direcion to strike and avoid worst fire... Even if we defeat them and munch their horses! That's no way to strike up a polite diplomatic conversation, so we decided to plan an underwater invasion. We surely can defeat their fleet, but mountin' an operation of capturin' an underwater resort is a hell of a task! It's not like a submarine can deliver multiple warbands, so... we gonna have to rely purely on quality without quantity. Gotta assemble the best warriors and prepare for an assymmetric operation"-Battlemaseter Jensen.

"You know for all of their technology they certainly look and act like uncivilized tribals. Their air force exclusively uses VTOL aircraft, but they don't seem to have that many. They only attack using hit-and-run tactics, a few VTOLs go in, try to destroy what they can, then get out. So the Air Forces can just consolidate their forces and group our air assets so we have strength in numbers, and we also make good use of BVR missiles to eliminate targets from afar. Imagine, you're some plucky VTOL pilot on your way to hit the Boldonian air group and you suddenly get targeted by 25-50 different missiles from beyond the horizon, yeah we obliterated their air force. The naval war doesn't even deserve mention, mostly because their navy is small compared to our military that has been built entirely around naval and amphibious warfare.

On the ground things are a little more difficult, but our naval and air supremacy still gives us the advantage. We just have to control the coasts and sky and wait for them to starve from there. Their forces are made up of several different clans so against our well organized amphibious assaults their forces just crumble. Our control of the coasts is strong, so we're mostly just waiting now, waiting for surrender."

"Actually, nevermind, Raydon is going to veto him anyways, you can stay."

"Well, yeah it did but I am serving as interim between the inauguration of whoever wins the elections."

[The Astovia]

A lone Astovian soldier waves down a friendly convoy, attempting to gain their attention as he emerges from a ruined house. Raising his hands into the air as one of the soldiers on a mounted machine gun turns to face him.

"Stop! I'm on your side! Private László, 20th Motorized!"

Slowly the command BVR came to a stop, the engine sputtering as László ran towards the tank. The commander opening the hatch as he turned to face the Private.

"You've got to listen to me, they'll destroy you too, it took hardly twenty minutes to wipe us out!" Desperately trying to convince the Tank Commander, he began pointing to ruined trucks on the stretch of road ahead, as well as pointing at the glassing barrages. "Just fifteen minutes ago, they began some sort of destruction campaign. I'm begging you, we need to turn back and retreat."

The commander looked out of his binoculars for a moment before slamming his fist on the turret. Lowering himself back into the turret as he talked to the crew. "Please I'm begging you! You need to turn around!" The commander looked up at László, holding the radio cord, pointing, "Get off of my tank." As László staggered off the tank, staring as he continued his pleading.

After a minute or so, the commander lifted himself back out of the hatch, turning to the trucks behind his machine. "The Royal Family is dead. Anyone who wants to retreat, dismount and desert like a coward. Private László watched as nobody dismounted, everyone beyond the commander staring at him. "Nobody?" The commander turned to face László, "You're alone deserter.

Hours later, when the fighting in Karkova finally died, forces of the Solar Union began searching for any sign of survivors, most of them had likely died or fled by now. The Royal Army scattered in all directions, reading off massive casualties as a small few attempted to reorganize the remnants. Though through the ash and smoke as an uncaring sun began to rise above the city, a few Solar Union soldiers found in the nearly entirely glassed streets one soldier hung from a noose tied to a lamppost, with a sign wrapped around his neck.

AN did say they would come back, so I'm still going to do them, hopefully they come back before the end of the day.

"Ah pre-war America, don't know why we're fighting the Americans but I guess that's just the insanity of Foxtrot-7 Command. Because this is still America we have been making sure to avoid having to actually kill anyone if possible. We did kill some Americans in the Panama Canal and on the waves of the Pacific, but that was mostly just to secure a safe path to the East Coast and we made sure to save as many as we could. So far American casualties remain lower than 200, or at least as far as we know. The plan is basically just to make sure the Chesapeake is clear and ensure there aren't any AA emplacements along the path to Washington, and then just fly a helicopter onto the South Lawn with an American flag onboard and politely tell Roosevelt that Boldonia isn't a hostile nation, and in fact is normally an ally of America."

"The Collie isn't real! It's just a myth to get us to fight! We need to go NOW!!!" says the young soldier.
Suddenly, The Magical Hypnosis Border Collie of Doom appears on the battle field and just starts going to town ripping the enemies apart! He then vaporizes the helicopters and smashes the tanks.
"See what I mean? We were just a distraction so he could show up and kill them!"
