This glorious thread is dedicated to the discussion of the service of our Glorious Helldivers, whom spread managed democracy throughout the galaxy and defend our way of life from the terminids and socialist Automatons.

As of March 11 2024 the status of the galactic war leaves mixed feelings. On one hand we are currently making massive ground against the terminds and will soon liberate Angel’s Venture, but on the other hand our efforts against the automatons have been an embarassment ever since the lost of Malevelon Creek, with our only major success being the battle for Tien Kwan.

Its a fun game, i think i enjoy fighting the Automatons more than the bugs though. Just.. something that clicks in my brain when the screen is full of explosions, glowing red eyes and laser bolts flying all over the place.

Also there have been Rumors/Screenshots of blue laser lights. These might be the Iluminants from Helldivers 1, also Flying bugs have been spotted by players. Both of these sightings have not been confirmed by the Super Earth Ministry of Truth.

Ever since the railgun was nerfed I’ve fallen in love with the auto cannon, it’s just so chunky and it’s beefy sound it’s so satisfying and it is insane against Automatons. Also against chargers you just gotta dodge out of the way at the past moment when they run at you and then when they get staggered due to running you then pullout the auto cannon and launch mini soda can sized bullets into their backside.

Free Eagle 500kg Bomb for every dive? These bugs are gonna rue they day they escaped their farms. I'd suggest taking the orbital EMS strike as well. Stick the bugs in place and then drop half a metric ton of freedom on them.

A perfectly sensible way to deal with Chargers. What's more fun, though, is pulling out an EAT or recoilless rifle while they charge you and blowing their entire head off. Nothing is cooler than the headless body of a Charger coming to a stop at your feet.

Hold on lemme do a tier list of the support weapons.

S-Tier
Stalwart: Can be used as essentially a primary weapon. If paired with the sniper as a primary and the machine pistol for a secondary you can cover all ranges and engagement types with ease.

Anti-Tank: Essentially it’s just 2 free Charger kills if you aim for the head, or a Free Bile titan kill if you aim for the right spot with both of the rockets. Also the cooldown is like super fast too


A-Tier
Autocannon: Kinda meh against the bugs unless you are fighting a charger or a bile titan. Against Bots tho it’s essentially a delete button sniper rifle for armored enemies. It does stop you when reloading which is kinda annoying, and it takes up a backpack slot which is annoying.

Flamethrower: Amazing against small bugs, kinda meh against bots. Just make sure to stand BEHIND any teammates that are using the flamethrower.

Recoilless Rifle: Pretty much a reloadable anti tank. Problem is that it takes up the backpack slot which can be used for better things like the laser drone or bubble shield or supply pack.

B-Tier

Railgun: Used to be S tier, after the nerf it’s still pretty decent but you gotta pay attention to the charge time which is annoying, plus it does way less damage now

Arc Thrower: Really fun to use against small enemies, ok when dealing with medium enemies, useless against chargers. Decent at small bots too. Really fun and has infinite ammo which is cool. However it is a friendly fire machine, the electric arcs have a mind of their own and WILL find a way to kill any teammates nearby.

Grenade Launcher: The grenades are cool but they can bounce back and hit you or friendly fire kills. It is really good when destroying bug holes tho.

Anti-Material Rifle: practically useless against bugs but against bots when hiding prone behind cover it feels amazing to use.

C-Tier

Heavy Machine Gun: Good in lower difficulties, bud god damn does it take forever to reload and it’s aiming speed is fucking slow I feel like I’m carrying lizzo on my back.

SPEAR: Essentially a recoilless rifle that doesn’t miss. You gotta stand mostly still to lock onto a target, and half of the time it doesn’t even hit the right spot on the enemy because of the inconsistencies of the angle that the missile hits the target. Mid af

D-Tier

Laser Cannon: Does lackluster damage, I expected it to like melt armor when first using it but no it does nothing to armor. The only only redeeming qualities are that fact that it has infinite ammo as long as you don’t hold the trigger down for too long, also it looks cool cus it’s a laser.

Me fighting the bugs: Spray and Pray

Me fight the Automatons: Makes a whole ass battle plan, mapping out the high ground and choke points for enemies, still ends up getting squad wiped multiple times due to either incompetence of myself and teammates or BS spawns of tanks/flame hulks

My main strait btw for bot drops is this:

If the drop ship has mostly small bots, push forward

If the drops ship has medium enemies like the chainsaw guys and the bipedal walkers, hood the line behind cover

If the drop ship has a bunch of big enemies like the tank or the missile hulk or flamethrower guy, fall back to cover to get more range.

The new Heavy machine I haven’t used yet

Laser Cannon is now B tier, it’s pretty decent in terms of damage now

Quasar Cannon is S tier, it’s an OP spartan laser

That’s the thing with bugs. When a charger is coming after you it’s not the charger you need to worry about, it that the charger diverts all your attention away from the 50 hunters heading towards you.
