The Uranium Backed Dollar (UBD) is a form of currency, originally developed and implemented by Orcuo. The currency system is similar to the NationStates Dollar (NSD), designed to be implemented across the nations of the NationStates Multiverse. Unlike the NSD, which origins and actually government legitimacy are vague; and seemingly with no apparent material (such as gold or oil) backing it up, the UBD has been designed to be a much more reliable currency.
What Is The UBD’s Backing?
The current material backing up the UBD is (you guessed it) uranium. To be more specific, Uranium-235 is the main backing, and some other uraniums (such as Uranium-238) are mixed in as well. The reason uranium was chosen is because the material seems to hold a relatively consistent value across the NationStates Multiverse. Due to many nations either using uranium to power their cities, or provide the payload material for a weapon of mass destruction (WMD) nuclear bomb, uranium holds value. Even for nations that have neither of these, uranium becomes a high valued item upon the arrival of the annual “N-Day” event (and on occasion, the Global Trade Fair). In which uranium becomes an almost necessity to have. Due to all these factors, uranium holds its value; and that is why it has been chosen to be the backing of the UBD.
How To Apply To Implement The UBD In My Nation?
In order to apply for the UBD system to be implemented in your nation, please fill out the following form and submit on this forum page. Your application will be reviewed and either accepted or denied. (PS: If your application is accepted, please note that UBD will become a valid currency system, not a national currency system. In order to make it a national currency, you would need to do that by yourself. Which is out of Orcuo’s dictation.)
