What would you do if you were "God"?

Postby Nort Eurasia » Wed Jun 02, 2010 8:22 pm

Imagine for a moment, you are given the power to create and destroy anything, you are the ultimate creator of everything and your word can completely change the universe. Your power knows no bounds, no restrictions. Your presence is ubiquitous.

Though I am an atheist, I still wonder, what would you do if you were "God"? Would you let yourself be known, or would you keep your existence concealed? Would you punish people for committing depravity and other horrendous acts, or would you simply pardon them for their wrongdoings? Would you create a spiritual plane and a place for eternal damnation, or would you allow your creations minds to cease existing or put them in a state of purgatory? Essentially, I want to know what you would do if you could do anything?

You should not give in to evils, but proceed ever so boldly against them.

What is asserted without reason may be denied without reason.

It would be like an endless game of Black and White... or DnD, or the Sims, depending on my mood.

As per your other hypothetical, retire, assuming my status as God is not necessary for the continuation of existence.

Start wars once in a while and also make myself live as a human unaware of that I'm God on and off. After all, I'm sure that the divine power would bore me sooner or later.

All of them. If I'm God, I'll do everything.

First off, I'd go down to earth in my fedora and aviators and be like:
"Guys, chill out, jeez. Why the radicals? I want you all to believe in Rastafarianism. It's the way to go. Also, no more fanatics. And don't try to say that you know me, that's no cool. You don't know me, bitch. Also, I make the rules; not you."
Then I would zoom back up on a road of clouds mounted on a rainbow-colored Unicorn Whale.

I know we've done this one before.

First, I would eradicate all "what would you do if you were God" threads.

Then, I'd take a nap.

No hard labor? Whats wrong with hard labor? Hard labor is good. It keeps the mind and body strong.

no working under the sun for hours to grow food. In Eden, men just pick fruits off the trees. Food is abundant, therefore no competition

1. I would let it be know that I exist through a chain of loyal followers in Churches.

2. I would set up an ever-expanding Earth, human live forever unless wished otherwise by me, in which case they would be in a state of Purgatory for a predetermined amount of time until they are born into another life. The ever-expanding Earth is to ensure that there is a place for everyone, in a world without death.

3. I would rule benevolently, with little offences (aka "sins") and treat such offenses as petty misdemeanors, everyone sins at some point. I would not condemn those that do not believe in me either.

4. I would let there be no nationality, just one world, under me. I would not allow racism or intolerance. I would condemn Crusades in my name.

5. I would allow beings to technologically advance as they please, and I would want people to try and work for themselves, instead of just asking me to do everything for them.

6. I would make it so there is an unlimited amount of food, so none starve. In a world where you can get food anywhere, there is no need for Capitalism or Communism. People can make things that are not necessities for themselves because, if you aspire to do something, you can.

7. I would make it so everyone has their own perfect body. They choose the age and looks and it will stay forever like that, until you change it (yes, you can do that).

Exactly. And what use would be in keeping both a strong body and mind when you can eliminate those characteristics?
