What’s the purpose of space?

As you know, there are thousands of galaxies and we are just a small spec in it. So what do you think the future of space is? What can we do with it? As a Christian, I believe that God created the universe and everything in it. I’ve met many religious people and they’ve said that space is not meant for humans and we should leave it alone, but then that makes me think “Why would God create all this for nothing” which leads me to believe that God wants us to explore space and colonize and utilize it. What do you guys think?

Space I believe is a testing ground, to build us up in ways that would not be possible as a part of a single unit (monad). Like free will.

I'm not religious, but, aliens would explain that question. God created all this for us (as in life), just not necessarily for US.
Regardless, Space has no purpose, it just is. Well, actually it isn't, space literally doesn't exist, it's the abscence of everything. There is no reason for that absence. But still, humans should take advantage of it and when we innevitably find aliens we should lift them up instead of destroying them like we write that they'll do to us in Science Fiction.
