I am new here, and I am just wondering if I should go and create my own region.

You should learn to manage one before creating one.
Right now is not a great time to create one, but that being said, I made the mistake of creating my region when my nation was just a few days old.

NEVER make your region a frontier when you are starting.
First make it a region, have some people you trust and (irl) friends get in, then you can maybe start conversion.

The biggest thing you have to ask is if you're willing to put in the amount of work required to run a region. There's structuring everything from region style to regional rules/constitution related stuff, deciding if your region will have offsite properties like Discord and organizing those...and the most important is continually recruiting folks, which in itself can be an absolute tedious chore that will more often fail than give success.

What do you want the region to be focused on?

Gameplay? Definitely follow the advice above and learn and build connections in an established region first.

Roleplay? Helps to have connections for this as well since otherwise it's pretty hard to get people to join, but you could probably swing it with enough advertising I feel. Then again, I don't know the RP side that well, so who knows.

For yourself to just live in? Go ahead and do so. Just remember to make it a stronghold without executive delegacy.

(or, you know, don't, my tag raids could always use an extra target.)
