[Bug] Post box shifted down

I made a thread about this some months ago assuming this was an IOS issue only but it seems to have repeated itself now that I'm posting on a computer.

I'm unsure if anyone else has had this same issue but this has happened to me across 2 devices so I think it may be a forum thing.

It’s happening on an IPhone SE on IOS 16.6.1 on Safari version 16.5 and a MacBook Pro on macOS Ventura 13.5.2 on the same version of Safari

Based on me posting this, it does not appear to be occurring with the Chrome browser on a chromebook using Chrome OS.

Not able to reproduce it on Windows 10 22H2, Firefox 117.0.1. Might be an issue with how Safari/Apple renders stuff?

Most likely. Likely inherited from WebKit, as I've been able to reproduce it on Midori 9.0.

I get this error on Google Chrome, iPhone 8 (16.6.1). It started a few months ago.

"Other" browsers on iOS being affected isn't surprising, as Apple insists that any browsers on iOS use the same engine as Safari (WebKit) - ie. "other" iOS browsers being affected is because they're just a reskinned Safari.

If the bug just started a few months ago, and doesn't affect older iOS versions, looks like it was introduced by Apple/WebKit. I couldn't figure out the specific bug (or if it was reported) after some searching of bugtrackers.

As you can see in this image, the message box floats incorrectly in Safari. This is due to the smiley box on the right, which introduces the horizontal spacing.



Removing that smiley box fixes the issue, as you can see in this image.



It looks like passing "overflow: hidden" in CSS fixes this issue but I'm not sure whether that's the proper method.

I'm on Safari 16.5 but have been able to reproduce down to the version bundled with Catalina. This issue started occurring perhaps this year? Perhaps something changed in the style sheet?

It can also be solved by reducing the forced minimum size of the message box from 100% to 99%:

I've merged IA's report with the older one.

The reports are a bit conflicting - my understanding was the post box displays as intended on older Safari versions (iOS/MacOS). Is that not the case?

I already did a quick check if there was any CSS changes that could have produced the bug, but there was/is no changes for the forum. I'll do some further digging whether something from the game side CSS could affect this if the bug does appear on older Safari versions too.

My memory must have been faulty; I'm currently posting on Safari 15.6.1 (macOS Catalina 10.15.7) which doesn't show this issue.

I do see, however, this exact issue on Safari in iPadOS 16.6.

I have the exact same problem. I run iOS 16.6.1, and pretty much every time I have posted within the last month, the draft shows up below where it should. I usually just ignore it unless it’s a rare instance where I can’t zoom in, and then it’s super annoying.
