The failure of the left to be actually egalitarian made such an outcome inevitable. Sex consciousness among men is rising and anti-feminism is now a mainstream position. This is a good thing.

What isn't so great is that because the left has totally failed to honestly engage with criticism of feminism, the discontent has been picked up by the right wing and the anti-feminism framed a particular way. Which is largely amoral to me, but not the moral outcome.

However men cannot achieve equality if women refuse to cooperate in that goal. All that is left then is a struggle for domination.

No, it's really not. A lot of my peers have become parents recently and every time I see a new baby on social media, I think "God, please let this baby grow up to be heterosexual and cisgender, because if not, these people are going to ruin its life so bad." Not out of malice, just because of the bullshit their heads are full of.

The task of teachers is to teach their students it's okay to be conservative, okay to liberal. Respect for each others and freedom being whoever you want to be is the way-to-go.

"Conservative" can encompass a wide range of opinions. Self-identifying as a conservative doesn't necessarily mean they have the same values as the previous generation of conservatives. May be an expression of aversion towards a liberal progressivism seen as favouring women and girls rather than a 'positive identification' as conservative in terms of underlying values. Doesn't tell us much really.

Well I wanted to look at the survey itself, but the article doesn't link to it. In fact, I couldn't find anything from Monitoring the Future about political affiliation. Their research seems mostly focused on drug use.

Also, one must consider the manipulated Y-axis in the chart. The actual fluctuation was like 4% (2014-2022).

I'm not surprised to learn this. Increasingly politics is becoming divided along gender lines, with the left increasingly employing openly misandrist language and we're reaching a point in which it's just not in the best interests of males to vote left of centre.

Only in the mind of a right-winger are feminism and leftism fully cohesive movements with an unitary ideology. In truth, both are heavily debated topics and have interesting issues to explore and engage with - if you actually consider their arguments instead of falling back to conservatism. There is no single idea of feminism, it is a multifaceted movement that constantly engages in self-reflection and criticism (see: the mockery most feminists often rightfully make of radfems). What it does not accept, however, is faithless criticism that is made without evidence. Or worse, made by misrepresenting existing evidence. Not only that, but right-wing responses to feminist analyses are often just stolen feminist talking points rebranded with social conservatism and traditional (and sometimes reactionary) views on gender (see: MRA and the manosphere in general).
