THE AMAZING DIGITAL CIRCUS — Pilot

Honestly it’s nice to see a surge in indie animation.

I’ve seen Lackadaisy, which is great and I especially enjoy because it is hand drawn traditional animation, which is a dying art form and a thoroughly applaud anyone who does traditional animation. I would recommend the Irish animation studio “Cartoon Saloon” for anyone who is interested in traditional animation. Their movies are beautiful and also take forever to make due to them being hand drawn.

Helluva Boss/Hazbin hotel: I am glad they now have an official show on Amazon soon. However personally I never liked either show. The charter design and aesthetic is amazing, but the whole time it’s just “insert sex joke here” it’s just edgy for the purpose of being edgy.


Glitch Productions: I remember watching SMG4 as a kid. Looking at modern SMG4 it really seems like they fell off. I would say SMG4 fell off around 2019, but that’s just my opinion. Glitch productions however, is really nice. I have never seen Metarunners. I am halfway through murder drones. my favorite charter would probably be N, he just wholesome.. I saw the pilot for the amazing digital circus and I love it. Pomni is my favorite charter. Her design is adorable and expressive, also as someone who suffers from anxiety I resonate with her charter a lot. Seems like the plot to TADC is gonna be “I have no mouth and I must scream” but goofy.

Also why tf did Gooseworks reveal Pomni’s age, now ppl are gonna make so much rule 34 of her.

So TADC seems to take some inspiration from “I have no mouth and I must scream”

Which in case you guys didn’t know what that is, it’s a short novel written by Harlan Ellison in 1967. During the Cold War the US, Russia, and China each made a hyper intelligent AI to watch over the nukes. The 3 ai went rough and combined together to form the Allied Master-computer or AM. AM then nukes the whole planet and then expands their facility and traps 5 people in his facility for eternity GLADOS style. However unlike GLADOS, AM is powerful enough to keep these 5 people alive indefinitely to fortune them for eternity. Also AM has one of the hardest quotes ever.

“HATE. LET ME TELL YOU HOW MUCH I'VE COME TO HATE YOU SINCE I BEGAN TO LIVE. THERE ARE 387.44 MILLION MILES OF PRINTED CIRCUITS IN WAFER THIN LAYERS THAT FILL MY COMPLEX. IF THE WORD HATE WAS ENGRAVED ON EACH NANOANGSTROM OF THOSE HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF MILES IT WOULD NOT EQUAL ONE ONE-BILLIONTH OF THE HATE I FEEL FOR HUMANS AT THIS MICRO-INSTANT FOR YOU.”

At the end of the novel, one of the characters manages to distract AM and then kills 4 of the survivors to end their suffering. Unfortunately the main character could not kill himself in time. AM, now furious that 4 out of his 5 playthings are now dead, puts his anger out on the remaking survivor, essentially surgically turning the last survivor into a flesh blob that is constantly injected with drugs that make its perception of time faster so seconds to him are months to us.

Well, damn, I heard of the story, the title at least, but I didn’t expect this. This is some pretty edgy stuff man. I will now indulge myself with these Cold War-era sci-fi novels.

Theory: Pomni is going to be the villain. Either intentionally or unintentionally she will break something the digital circus, causing some sort of digital corruption that messes up the games code, creating an immanent danger to everyone else and possibly herself.
