[DRAFT] Bribe Abolishment Act

Postby CANDESIA » Mon Jun 05, 2023 3:51 am

The General Assembly,

Bribe is defined as a gift or present, that is given to a person illegally on order to keep silent to reveal about the illegal work done by a bribe giver.
Knowing the fact of recognizing bribes and corruption as a work of sin in all the religion,
Noting the situations that bribes are taken from criminals, which may infamous the officer as well as the member states,
Stressing the fact in which hush money is literally given to the honest officers to keep them silent from revealing corruptors' work,
Remembering those honest and brave officers, who worked for the government honestly, sincerely and fought against those corrupt ministers, officers, people, etc. who take bribes and money from the high taxes as usual from the poor,
Emphasizing the situation of the increasing death rate of the people, mainly because of the burden of debt on the people, rather than anything else,

Hereby, enacts as follows :-

1. Proclaim taking bribes and hush money as a governmental crime officially across the member states;
2. Encourage the member states to look after the government officials to make sure that they do not take any hush money;
3. Reverencing those retired officers who kept refusing bribes since they joined a work force;
4. Cancelling the pensions of the retired corrupt officers and ministers after their work;
5. Encouraging the people to pay taxes in a limited way.

Approved by WA Delegates?
Approved by GenSec?
Any grammatical mistakes, please tell me.

Hope, it would work by posting draft.

Why are you saying that criminalising bribery will be to "officially to support religious beliefs?" Politicians of all faiths and none can be (and are) corrupt. Most resolutions that say "X is a crime" don't specify why all member states should consider X a crime.

Article 3 makes no sense, unless you mean to say you want to encourage such examination.

I think it'll be best if you explain what a bribe is legally. Vague laws are bad laws after all.

"Good morrow.

This feels like a idea or topic to approach, but I believe you are going to need to get a bit more detailed in what you are proposing. To start, I would recommend including a definition of a bribe or bribery.

For example, one could include a section which reads, 'A bribe shall be defined as a gift, offering, or item / offer of value provided with the intent to influence the actions of a sapient individual in a position of authority.' Or you can do something else to that effect.

Good luck and let our delegation know if you would like to discuss further.

Thank you."

"This is a poor approach to a genuine problem. In most civil societies, bribery is already illegal because it harms the public good, so making it illegal is irrelevant. In the remaining societies, all you will have done is push a harmful behavior underground where, as it was previously acceptable, it will continue.

"In either case, the proposal categorically addressed any policy to actually stop illegal bribery. As it stands, we have an ex post facto punishment for retirees, a plea for oversight, a request to make such acts a crime, and a strange encouragement to pay taxes. There is no strong requirement that said crime have any notable punishment, that investigations be more than shams, or that pensions be taken from any actively serving individual. Any government invested in maintaining the corrupt status quo will be unaffected.

I agree with you. Now, I am going to make another proposal, which will be as a draft. Btw, this post can be locked now.
