Another day in our federation

For today, we have some interesting headlines from the state. Due to needed correctional reforms, the citizen's civil rights index fell a bit... but it was necessary. We also have implemented some election reforms to reduce corruption and increase efficiency. Our police have been informed of new guidelines and are being trained to adhere to them in order to better protect our people. Now, our Minister of Cartography: "No new nations, no new map and it looks as if Nat Selection is about to have a cataclysmic event. We will be monitoring the situation."

The new government, the Federation of Free Democracies, has been established. Elections have taken place, with the Liberals leading nationwide. However, the Libertarians led Bavian and the Conservatives led Vevont. The nation will have frequent elections and will seek to give the people as much freedom as possible without it being anarchy.

Big things always happen on a Friday

Good Friday. As is the custom, we have multiple headlines heading into the weekend. With the disappearance of a notable individual, our department of safety has expanded it's research and activity into the cyber crimes sector. With the officers being trained to handle this new and ever evolving threat, we feel our federation will be safe in the coming years of these technological advancements. With these newfound safeguards, we have also increased our focus on new technology development. Time travel may be closer than you think my friends. But in reality, our new electric cars are so appealing that we can barely keep up with demand. With this issue, we have started a lithium recycling program and have increased taxes on these new luxuries to compensate for their byproducts. If that weren't enough, we have also officially switched to using the metric system. Having done all this simultaneously, we have made quite a leap forward and plan to enjoy the benefits to come.

In regional news, the nation Nat Selection has ceased to exist due to a cataclysmic event of great proportions. Our intelligence agencies have not disclosed their findings on the matter, but we wish the departed nation the best in the afterlife that is the boneyard. Farewell. Now, the daily update from our Ministry of Cartography: "Even with Nat Selection having ceased to exist, there are no changes today. We have sighted one new nation, Free Democracies, and have been receiving news broadcasts from them. They seem to be a newer nation but organized and civil. We anticipate their upcoming developments."

A great surprise for the weekend

Hello and may I say happy Friday to my fellow nations! We are going into this weekend with happy faces and tan bums. You will understand my friends, just read on! First though, the important things. In a decision made today, politicians will be treated as the citizens - no better but also no worse. They have the same rights and will be handled as anyone else - even me! This also ties in to legislation we have passed that defines a right to equal protection of all citizens. This comes from an incident with an illegal immigrant and also has spawned a nation wide campaign for good citizenship. But, and I say that with great pleasure, we have the big news and we're going to crack it open... nudity has now been decriminalized here in our nation! Prudism is out and bootyism is in! I say it is a good change for our nation and is another step away from the tyrannical dictatorships of our past. Hang loose this weekend my friends!

The sun never sets and the clock never stops

It is the end of the weekend and we will see it out with the good and the not so good. In domestic headlines, a woman was refused her medicine due to a pharmacist's personal beliefs. As you can imagine, this caused quite a stir with the populace. In reaction to this unfortunate event, we have mandated that professionals in the pharmacist field must fill valid prescriptions given by a licensed medical professional. This will do away with personal views obstructing duties in such situations. Along with that, we also have instituted a blind awareness program and have made changes to public spaces in order to better accommodate those who are visually impaired. New construction is also being regulated in a more environmentally conscious manner, with new certifications being required for projects within our borders. The political landscape has seen quite a bit of activity as well. As you may notice, parliament agreed on a new flag, motto, animal and currency to suit our new government. I for one think the change is for the better. We will not abandon our historical roots but we must acknowledge the passage of time and adjust accordingly. Following in that method of thought, we have also mandated the redrawing of voter districts in order to better represent the populace. This has given rise to our political freedoms index.

With our new friends in Free Democracies, Equit has grown by another member state. This is good for us all and we would like to personally welcome them and hope they enjoy their time here. Another nation, Tormance, is coming close to a similar cataclysmic event that plagued our friends in Nat Selection not but a short time ago. With that, here is a message from our Minister of Cartography: "We have a new face on the map: Free Democracies. I extend my welcome and wish them the best on their newly allocated land. The nation of Tormance has not responded for some time and it is rumored they may suffer the same fate as Nat Selection. We will be keeping our sights on them."

Light Saturday

I bid you happy Saturday my friends and neighbors. It is today I say there is not much to be excited about and that is a good thing. This day of Saturday is meant for rest and it has been used so for our good. But, I will say we did have some happenings in our great nation today. We have instituted a new program in our correctional system that puts our citizens serving their debt to society on the field and making food for the homeland! In sports, many competitors have been caught using illicit and harmful substances which has caused us to begin mandatory testing on all athletes. There has also been strives in the field of biological research. Staying in tune with the day of rest, our politicians have also relaxed some rules in the parliament and also reinforced ideals of traditionalism.

We are going into this new week rested and recoopered. Whatever comes, we will have the strength and courage to conquer it. I say this with great certainty for I know my people have grown stronger since our turn to this new life. I thank my people and I thank my fellow nations for their support. Sherry: Thanks for staying with us. We're back and we are now going to cover the headlines before our interview with Speaker of the House Macy Crone. In an unsurprising outcome, most of the proposals today were either laughed off the floor or flipped to benefit private interests. The "slothdog" problem has become policy, with reserves being set up for this invasive nuisance. And of course, people's rights to deface just about anything was also upheld with the dismissing of some public safety legislation. Libertarianism is now taught in schools following some issues with "economic bumps with customer notions" as the education system's principal donors put it. A merger with the two largest drug manufacturers in the nation is also underway and the government seems to have cut even more red tape for this occasion. This has also resulted in new unregulated trade deals with foreign entities.

Tom: What's the point of having a government if they never do anything?

Dylan: Now Tom, we're a young nation! We have to forge our own path. It's our duty to steer this new nation in the right direction!

Tom: I guess, but how? How, if the majority of representatives kill every bill in their path?

Sherry: Sounds like the representatives are the problem...

Dylan: Sherry's right, but not totally. It's the people! We need to inform the people, educate them and rally them to vote these do-nothings out of office!

Tom: That sounds good and all, but how are you going to sway public opinion like that?

Dylan: One person at a time.

Sherry: Riveting discourse here as always! But now we have our guest, Speaker of the House Macy Crone. Please, Mrs. Speaker, could you give us your firsthand experience of the senseless neglect that occurs in our congress?

Macy: Thank you for having me, Sherry. Yes, these fools, I'm telling you, these fools need to be dealt with. How can I, me, can I do my job when the whole floor is against me? What do the people, you people, us people, what do we do? It's madness there.

Dylan: We need to rally the people! Lackadaisia deserves better!

Tom: Mrs. Crone, what are your prospects on a cultural shift for the future of Lackadaisia?

Macy: These people, I'm telling you *sips drink* they need to be aware. We need to get this information out there. Pyrans know the nonsense - they have this great show and this great outlet to show them! But in the backwaters, erm, the less fortunate areas of Lackadaisia *sips drink* such as central Tarin or eastern Borlo, these people only hear things like The Lackadaisia Minute or that fool Mike Brava. People like that need to be shut down!

Tom: Many wouldn't like that though... that would be a real step towards-

Dylan: Towards what Tom? Towards a better country?

Tom: Well, these people value their freedom and-

Dylan: These people don't know what they want, let alone need! We need to bring Lackadaisia up a few pegs. It's time to stop living like barbarians!

Macy: You see *sips drink* could I get another? Thanks. You see, Dylan is right. Dylan is the kind of person we need for our movement to fix the government.

A somber start to the week

As we welcome the new week, I have nothing of note to report from my advisors, as far as domestic happenings go. Our transition to a command economy is going well and we are seeing the benefits already. With our reinforcement of civil liberties while instilling equity into our society, we are heading to what my leaders call a "Utopian Society". This is a great goal to have and I am glad to be a part of it.

In our region, another nation has met their fate in disappearing into the void. We had not heard from Tormance for some time, so naturally we assumed the worse. We bid them farewell as they make their journey to the boneyard. With that, here is our Minister of Cartography: "No new nations on the map or in the region. As you probably know by now, we are down one nation unfortunately. Tormance has left us, but we have seen nations come back by divine intervention so we always have open doors for them and wish them the best."

A new week, a new surprise

Hello and happy Sunday my fellow nations and all friends alike! We are having a great time here since the reconstruction of the larger population areas since our terrible accident but two weeks ago. It may have been terrible for us all but it has also helped. Since the former ruler of Zuper's ego put him into the history books and the ground alike, we have come out stronger and more prosperous than ever. I am happy to say that we have also begun launching and testing our new channel fleet! This new array of sea vessels was designed for patrolling our coastline and important waterways. We will be running tests and having a bit of fun around our economic zone so please take some pictures! May you all have a great week.

The Lackadaisia Minute

*static* ...and my baby, she loves me too! Lacka-da do-da-da do-da-loo! *news intro* It's time for the minute! Earlier this morning, visitors at beaches lining the patella strait saw about a dozen ships passing through on a northward journey. These ships were identified as belonging to the nation of Zuper and were aptly decorated for their maiden voyage. The leader of Zuper, Premier Jelwa, had this to say: "Hello my friends! My fleet is passing through to help us inspect the northern lands. With this new strength, our nation will continue to prosper!" Residents at the beaches were less than enthusiastic. Shoma Lan, a Cappere native, says she "doesn't want to see those trash heaps filled with cork heads drift by her private beach." Strong feelings from both sides of the aisle! With the fleet heading northward, they are said to be mooring in the lands just north of the patella peninsula. Nothing from Cornall yet, but we'll keep you updated! *click*

Rough waters

As we progress through this new week, once again the nation of Zuper stirs the normally calm waters of our tranquil region. Premier Jelwa, the most recent ruler of Zuper, has commissioned a small fleet of ships. These new ships have seemingly been scrapped from the previous regime's half finished projects and outfitted with new components of unknown origin. We have observed twelve ships - ten corvette and two destroyer class warships. Underwater radar has detected one large mass under the fleet's position but has been unable to identify it. These ships passed through the patella straight yesterday morning and have since moored in the bay near the uninhabited lands just north of Zuper. These waters nor these lands have been claimed but the nation of Zuper's history shows that this may not be the case for long. Our regional reconnaissance network will be monitoring the nation and its new ruler going forward. For all of our benefit, our observers have shared a photo of one of the smaller vessels...

A word from our Minister of Cartography: "No changes on the map today. We have not heard from The Scillna Commune or Islenchia for some time. We fear the worst but hope for the best. We will keep you informed of our observations."

*static* *pop* Aaahhh... that's a good Fizzler™️ *babbling brook* Now in cherry! *news intro* Tick tock, check the clock! It's the minute! Earlier this week, a dozen Zuperian ships passed through the Patella Straight in a less than inconspicuous manner. Yesterday, a small reconnaissance squad from The Federation of Shashima was seen heading west into the northern channel. One of the Zuperian corvettes had broken from the group and was making its way east through the channel. Their paths crossed just north of Ekros and the sight of the Shashiman patrol caused the swift little warship to panic and come about so fast it nearly capsized. "They look like they're heading for the bigger ship mommy!" yells a small child on vacation in Ekros from central Tarin. Still no word from Cornall. We suspect they are monitoring the situation and we'll keep you informed! *click*

Mice of all sizes run the same

Good day my friends. I have received reports that yesterday one rogue Zuperian corvette warship was spotted near the mouth of the northern channel maneuvering very erratically. When our patrol squad went to intercept this, at the time, unknown vessel, it almost sunk itself trying to evade them. We know this was a Zuperian ship by the design and livery. I have been told that the patrol followed the ship back to the larger group westward but also that the ship's wake did not match the wake of a normal ship of its design. Upon further inspection of our photographs, we have determined the ships have been heavily modified with parts of still unknown origin. Our patrol is clearly out of its jurisdiction in the western bay but our trade agreement with Lackadaisia permits us to patrol the northern channel for both of our interests. We will continue doing so.

Islenchia and The Scillna Commune have not been heard from in some time. Our Minister of Cartography: "Well, we are fearing the worst for The Scillna Commune and Islenchia. The next twenty-four hours will determine their immediate fate. We will be keeping an eye on them."

Unprovoked harassment

Hello my friends and good Friday to you all. So it seems the patrols of Shashima think they own the waters! This is not the case I'm afraid. My new channel fleet has shown it can best even the so called "protector of the waters." These new, eh... core-vet-ees as they are called are so fast they even try to fly away. Such power! I tell all my fellow nations and friends that we are not hostile. Our advancement comes with the need to test and sometimes even fail. Today we have not failed though. We will continue with our research and will continue building our fleet but we will not violate any sovereign borders. I give you my promise!

Keeping watch

The small fleet of ships being commanded by the nation of Zuper has taken refuge in the western bay, just out of our reach. We are monitoring their actions and it seems that they are using the fleet as a sort of smoke screen to mask smaller ships moving into the bay. They seem to be small cargo ships but we were not able to make a distinction due to the mass of ships and the inclement weather. As with all of Zuper's actions, none of this make sense and we will continue to monitor their actions.

Our friends Islenchia and The Scillna Commune have passed on to the next life. We wish them the best. A word from our Minister of Cartography: "As you may have seen, The Scillna Commune and Islenchia are no longer with us. Islenchia's claim will be removed from the map after the next update I post. Until then, have a good weekend.

New horizons

With such a small amount of time since my last writing, there is little more to update you on with the Zuper situation. I am writing to inform you all of our move to a more spacious location on the western continent. With our growing population, we feel the need to expand in areas that still allow us breathing room.

Our secretarial duties for the region have been relieved of us. One last word from our Minister of Cartography: "My time as your regional cartographer has been a great experience. I will never forget it. Farewell friends."

Sherry: ...and we can't believe it either! It is truly a great accomplishment for the nation and a needed step for our progression into a world power. How can we say we are the bastion of freedom when we have the same people representing us for decades? I for one am glad we are finally moving away from this type of anarchy, even if to just a loose confederacy of the peninsular states. With this and the surprising move to the metric system last week, our once small and chaotic nation is finally starting to accept and embrace the future of progressivism.

Tom: Sherry, I am as surprised as you are. No one, not even those who were for it, saw it coming.

Dylan: Each day we change a mind and now we are making a name for ourselves. The Reform Party is officially on the map!

Tom: The Corporatists are sure having a fit right now...

Sherry: I am not surprised. Every time the government actually makes a decision they always go up in arms.

Dylan: That's why we have to match them. We have to be twice as energetic, twice as vocal, even if there are less of us! We've shown that we can unite and accomplish things despite the odds.

Sherry: I agree, but we must also maintain the higher path.

Tom: True. While some things you hear from the other side of the aisle may be true or helpful, it is usually buried in emotional rhetoric and profanity.

Dylan: I've NEVER heard anything helpful from any Corporatist!

Sherry: Despite our differences, we all will have to learn to work with each other as time goes on. Our nation has a bright future as long as we can incorporate cooperation into our decision-making processes.

Tom: I agree. We're all in this together.

Dylan: Yes, but we must not back down. Our voices will not be silenced with dailas!

A new capital city for our growing nation

Good Friday my friends and neighbors! Today is a special day for we have surpassed 250,000,000 citizens in our great nation. To celebrate this, we have designated a new capital city of Kulubet. This city is in central Zuper with all metropolitan areas gaining equal access to the country's new center. It also sits central with the northern isthmus making future expansion not a problem as our new highway network will have a main artery running parallel and passing right through the capital city. New facilities are being constructed along with new infrastructure and we have even offered incentives for rural Zuperians to relocate to the new capital in order to stimulate our growing service market. I invite all nations to come visit! If I don't see you on the marble steps later today then I wish you a great weekend!
