YOUR NEW GATE TO LISANDER
Linville Métropole Airport is a brand new international airport located in Linville, 18km from the city centre of Soria, the capital of Lisander. Serving as a vital transportation hub, the airport facilitates both passenger and cargo operations, connecting Lisander and other Trimaris nations to various domestic and international destinations. With two terminals catering to different travel needs, Linville Métropole Airport offers convenient and efficient services to its visitors and airlines. Linville Métropole Airport is a remarkable venture brought to fruition through TRIAS, with the financial support provided by the National Bank of Lisander. This ambitious airport project received invaluable backing from the local government, particularly the Linville Commune. Through their combined efforts, this airport endeavour aims to enhance connectivity, foster economic development, and provide exceptional travel experiences for passengers worldwide.
The establishment of Linville Métropole Airport serves as a significant step in alleviating air traffic congestion at the neighbouring Aeroporto Albert II, in Soria. With the introduction of Linville Métropole Airport, the aim is to divert international air traffic to this new facility, providing a more efficient and seamless travel experience for international travellers, as well as ensuring smoother air transportation and reducing congestion in the region.
Linville Métropole Airport is operated by TRIAS (Trimaris Airport System). The exchange rules in force in the principality establish the exchange of 2 Universal Standard Dollars for 1 Lisanderian Lis, with the option of digital transfer to LSiD at no cost. For those to prefer to exchange values in national currencies in the airport premises, the Ministry of Finance adopts an exchange policy based on international exchange rates (IER), with a service fee that varies between 1 and 3% per each Lis, depending on the currency exchanged.
Exchange Rates in the Airport:
1 Lisanderian Lis <> 2 Universal Standard Dollars/NationStates Dollars, free from other taxes.
Trimaris Currencies: IER applies, rounded to two decimals, 1% of service fee.
Astyrian Currencies: IER applies, rounded to two decimals, 2% of service fee.
Other Currencies: IER applies, rounded to two decimals, 3% of service fee.
Rental, Parking and Transport
To ensure convenient connections to and from the airport, Linville Métropole Airport provides various ground transportation options for passengers. There are Taxi Stops and Car Rental facilities from the biggest rental companies in the nation, TAG and Lemmertz. The Soria Bus system has a line that covers the airport, with buses every 30 minutes, providing an alternative, low-cost means of accessing the airport. There's also the option of chartering a bus within the airport. For those leaving Lisander temporarily, TAG also offers parking services, as well as all of its services, on its nearby Centre, for up to 21 days.
Dear visitors, please be aware of this information, kindly provided by the Linville Communal Council, regarding the Lisander Identity (LSiD) system and its use by tourists:
LSiD (Lisander Identity) is the national document made available for all people in the principality. It’s provided free of charge for every person in Lisander, regardless of nationality and status and is a storage for all your personal data and information recorded with the Lisanderian government. It provides every person with a single, unique and customisable identification code, composed by letters, numbers and some special characters.
The most common form of a LSiD device, and the one provided to tourists, is a small card, with a chip that stores all of the data. LSiD chips can be detached, like a SIM Card, and used in a pendant, bracelet or any other acessory. By being approached to LSiD terminals around the nation, a LSiD device can be used to process different data, like credits to pay for using Public Transport, medical history, workplace timecard and even a limited amount of money, up to L$ 500 (Around NS$ 985), like a prepaid card. This money is guaranteed by the government, even if you miss the LSiD device.
Foreigners on tourist or work visas are not mandated to use the LSiD for any purpose, nor can they be forced to deposit money in it, but they can be fined or detained for not being in possession of it, under the allegation of being "undocumented illegal immigrants".
TL;DR: Your personal and travel data are stored in a microchip. This microchip then will be handed to you in a card. If you need medical assistance, present it and you will be seen free of charge at an NHS hospital. If you're robbed, present it and you will be escorted to your nation's Embassy, High Commission, Consulate or Office of Affairs. You can choose to use this as a prepaid card and deposit pocket money on it, instead of carrying money. For your safety, don’t go anywhere without the card, or the police and gendarmerie can scold you, at least.
TERMINALS
Linville Métropole Airport has two terminals open to flights. The larger terminal at Linville Métropole Airport boasts 68 gates to handle a substantial number of domestic and international flights. Equipped with state-of-the-art amenities and facilities, the main terminal ensures a comfortable and efficient journey for passengers. It offers a wide range of services, including check-in counters, security checkpoints, duty-free shops, restaurants, lounges, and transportation facilities. These gates are divided into 4 sectors. The first sector, which includes gates 1 to 17 is reserved for TRIAS partner airlines, where its travellers can enjoy the best experiences during travel. The TRIAS Pavillion, as it's called, with its contemporary design and personalized services, is a distinct and exclusive section within Linville Métropole Airport, showcasing the innovative and modern approach of the TRIAS to providing comfort and wellness. The other gates are open to leasing for Airlines that constantly fly to Lisander.
The cargo terminal serves as a dedicated facility for handling freight and logistics operations. With 20 well-equipped gates, 4 of them reserved for TRIAS partners, the cargo terminal accommodates a variety of cargo aircraft, facilitating the efficient movement of goods to and from Lisander. It adheres to international standards for cargo handling and provides specialized services such as warehousing, customs clearance, and secure storage facilities.
LEASING GATES
OOC: Please refrain asking for multiple gates only because you can. Not only it spoils space from other airlines, but it's also counter-productive and irrealistic.
Consider that an airport gate can manage between 5 and 12 flights per day, depending on the size of the plane. Wide-body airplanes take more time to refuel, arrive and depart than narrow-body ones.
So, in the worst scenario, where an airline needs to use all of this gates to transport people from or to Lisander using wide-bodied planes — the ones that inflict bigger strain in the airport system , a gate can manage 30 flights per week. A Boeing 777, the average wide-body airplane, has maximum capacity of 368 passengers. 30 of them means 11,040 people transported per week. When it comes to narrows, the figure gets even bigger. A fleet of Airbus 321 with its maximum capacity of 220, in the worst scenario of all slots taken all days of the week (84 flights per week), would carry 18,480 people in a single gate. If so many flights were needed, it would certainly be a humanitarian calamity, and in this case there would be no point in just one gate. I'm happy Lisander is being seen as a tourist spotlight, but it's not exactly like most nations will transport 10k+ people to and from Lisander each week.
Astyrian Nations may need more than one gate, that's fair to them, since we are in the same region. If our nations have some long-standing partnership (in NS Sports, for example), I can understand it may need a second gate. But, if your nation has little flighting to Lisander (different region, not roleplaying elsewhere), your airline doesn't need more than one gate.
