Commend the Gunshine State

Hello I was recommended to post this here.






Acknowledging The Gunshine State as a young but thriving region;

Further acknowledging the Gunshine State as the first Frontier to ever be featured. A monumental event in Nationstates history.;

Even further acknowledging that as a consequence of being featured this region was raided and the natives expelled. However the nations called for help and managed to get defended by the Rejected Realms Army. Who returned the region to the natives and cast out the invaders.

Believing the Security Council should not hesitate in commending such a notable Region;



This is my first attempt at one of these as you can probably tell

I don't see how being raided makes a region more commendable.
And the only notable thing about this region is that it was featured.

Nothing Commendable here. Possibly illegal for the reference to being featured - that is an aspect of the game NationStates, so R2(a).

Edit: Missed the obvious illegality - it doesn’t have an operative clause.

If anything we should commend Sparkalia for their incredible op. Sure Gunshine was the first frontier to be featured, but we were the first raiders to raid a featured frontier and surely that's worth something :P.

"being featured" is a 2a violation -- referring to game mechanics. I highly recommend consulting the SC rules before continuing to draft this proposal.

Yeah, we've had a few resolutions mention featured regions; it's another "unique aspect of the NationStates world", and legal to mention.

I did emphasise “Possibly” - the old fourth wall/NS as a game is often hard to adjudicate.

Anyway looks like Sedge has taken the view that it’s legal, so it moves back into the queue.

Was writing the above while Sedge was posting so it’s superfluous now.

Of course legal does not equal good and this draft is a classic example of that.

I'm glad to see the status was changed. Being featured has been in multiple previous proposals so I wasn't sure why people bought it would be illegal.
